Gaithersburg to dc - bottle shops and breweries

    Hey guys! Coming back to my home town of Gaithersburg for the first time in 10 years. Going to be in DC to Gaithersburg for several days.

    What breweries should I definitley go to, I already plan on dc brau. What about blue jacket?

    Also, what bottle shops are best for picking up local stuff and other stuff not in Florida distro?

    Welcome back to the 'burg. Blue Jacket is good although that area is dead when there isn't a baseball game. Jailbreak and Denizens are new breweries. If you can grab some OTWOA at DC Brau it's worth it, otherwise their stuff can be found at most shops.

    As far as shops in "G'burg", downtown Crowne has the best selection although you would fine better prices at the Total wine in Reston or my favorite Ye Olde Spirit Shoppe in Frederick.

    Do all your shopping in DC unless you want to pay through the nose.

    P st whole foods and Connecticut ave wine and liquors
    For beer bars check our church key , Meriden pint, smoke n barrel

    In gburg check out growlers and the dogfishhead ale house

    Be aware though MoCo is stupid expensive for beer

    Total Wine also has a store in McLean which is a bit closer to Gaithersburg...

    jcos, you are correct. Actually meant to say McClean.

    Agreed with the other replies that MoCo is not the best for bottle shops.
