Surly Abrasive Release Info

I was there Saturday night and if I knew they were serving Abrasive upstairs I would have ran up there so fast! I heard they were serving only cans upstairs for some reason, but didn't hear any rumbling about it being abrasive!!

 

I know a lot of stores get their Surly on Tuesdays, think Abrasive is being delivered today?

 

Very doubtful. I was there on Saturday and was told the manufacture of the canning line has not signed off on full production yet. The cans that were available upstairs(delicious of course), were from the test runs they completed.

The cans Abrasive was served out of at the new brewery were the old cans (Minneapolis and abv not listed). So on that alone, you could assume they were from a test run, using up old stock on new canning line. Todd tweeted on Sunday that packaging equipment was not yet operational, so don't expect to see it in stores too soon.

 

Dang, talk about getting my hopes up, lol.

 

Not nearly as good as Abrasive, imo, but if you can find it, Evil Twin Molotov Lite is a passable substitute until Abrasive hits distro.

 

I don't know the cans I had tonight were stamped 12/19/14 and I have to say 4 day old Abrasive is about as good as it gets! Hopefully we will see it soon!

 

When I was at Surly last night, they were still selling Abrasive cans upstairs for $7.

 

Surly must have added more cans. I was in the beer hall Monday and they had stopped selling cans of Abrasive due to Abrasive being the test batch.

 

Heading there shortly, hoping there is an Abrasive Christmas miracle. I will report back.

Nope no Abrasive, cool place though.

 

According to the knowledgable bartender at Surly today, they are waiting for the official sign-off on the canning line before abrasive hits stores. Mid January is what he's been told.

 

I want to "like" your post for the great info but I just don't like this news at all! I owe seven people Abrasive and hate having to delay it,plus I need to drink some!!!!!!

 

surly rep at my local store said second week of january. at least thats the target.
