Arizona Wilderness is THE best brewery in AZ. Great, unique beers brewed with local ingredients, great and friendly staff. Still trying to get a taste of Fate's Candy Bar Stout.

Virginia - in no particular order

    Lickinghole Creek - Enlightened Despot
    Blue Mountain - Dark Hollow
    Ardent - IPA Batch #5 (Citra-Mosaic-Columbus)
    Beach Brewing - Hoptopus
Triple Crossing - Nectar and Knife

But I really think we ought to restart this thread on a per-style basis. Left out so many good ones - I just happen to like stouts and IPAs best, and this is highly skewed toward Richmond breweries, 'cause I'm more familiar with them.

Connecticut has several great breweries, but the top 7 beers in the Nutmeg State all come from New England Brewing Company. That being said, here is MY list of the top 5.

    1. Baby Fuzzy Ducks - NEBCo
    2. Locust Reign - NEBCo
    3. Gandhi-bot - NEBCo
    4. Coriolis - NEBCo
    5. Willi Whammer - Willimantic Brewing Company

I'm more concerned that you left off King Sue.

I have no problem characterizing Bauhaus or Summit as values, but Hotbox and Dark Fatha cost more per ounce than *any* Surly canned beer, including Wet and Abrasive. Chocolate Milk Stout is more expensive than Furious, Coffee Bender, etc., while managing to be less interesting.

As for Surly's large-format stuff, I am inclined to agree that $20 for 750ml is way too much for Syx, Seviin, Eight, Smoke, and Pentagram, but waver on BA Darkness.

If it's purely just favorites from within the state, regardless of availability and ease of access:
    Central Waters anniversary release
New Glarus annual sour release for great taste weekend
    New Glarus scream IIPA
    O'so convenient distraction
Tyranena carnal knowledge in the wood

Now if we're talking beers that you don't have to wait in line for or go out of your way to get:
    New Glarus scream IIPA
    O'so convenient distraction
Central Waters brewers reserve bourbon barrel stout
Central Waters bourbon barrel barley wine
    Capital autumnal fire

The craft beer industry in this state is rapidly growing … finally. I'm leaving out some very good beers, especially in other styles that I don't drink often, but I'm excited about the ever-expanding selection of quality craft beer available here. We're not on the level of California, Colorado or Oregon, but we're making great progress.

    From the state of Virginia:
    AleWerks Pumpkin Ale
    Hardywood Gingerbread Stout
    AleWerks Bitter Valentine
    Hardywood Bourbon Barrel Gingerbread Stout....
    and now I'm stuck.
I could put almost anything else from either AleWerks or Hardywood for the 5th slot, so for the sake of a top 5, I'll say Christmas Morning from Hardywood because I've had it recently and is a fantastic variation of GBS. But once again, that 5th slot is interchangeable with a lot of other noteworthy beers, likely depending on how recently I've had it.
