I passed on the Mercury. Saturn looks to be the next planet series I'll be ISO

I'm thinking its closer in style to Redemption, which I really like, so I'm looking forward to this...

It's really not as good as either of these. It's just kind of a 'Plain Jane' Belgian Blonde Ale. Unfortunately, it's not exciting at all.

I'm fairly open minded and forgiving, but Venus just smelled like vomit. I actually laffed.

I kinda liked Venus. I think the quality was fine, style probably threw people off.

thought mercury has been the best so far. mars not too far behind. venus was in the toilet. none have really been noteable though.

Mars, that's where it was. I'd take that over Hopslam any day.

Mercury has been the only one of the series I have yet to enjoy. That said, I would not buy it again, nor would i recommend it to anyone, based on the price point (i.e. I paid either $3.99 or $4.99 for my bottle, whatever the going rate for the singles from this series had been in my area). I thought it was a nice Belgian styled session ale, but it certainly wasn't anything more than that. $9-$10 for a six pack I could accept.

Didn't I read something the other day about Mercury being recalled? Did they get that straightened out? Just wondering.

What I have seen is that a certain batch had weak seals on the caps, resulting in flat beers or spillage. I also read somewhere about the glass failing (glass ending up in the beer) but that is unconfirmed.

Loved Mars, but couldn't get my hands on any bottles.

Venus was interesting, but I think I liked the concept more than the actual beer. I definitely had trouble getting through a whole sixer.

Thought that Mercury was worse than Venus. Easily the weakest Bell's beer I've ever had. I don't think I'd have even pegged it as a Belgian if I were just handed a glass.

Disappointed in the planet series so far. Mars was a decent DIPA but nothing to write home about. Venus was ok when you removed the thought that this is a beer. Mercury was a single Belgian. Nothing that I thought a special series would be.

I am new to this but it seems bells is taking advantage of a high demand market with mediocre small run beers.

I have not been able to find any of these offerings on shelves other than Mercury but with the horrible reviews I have seen on it I passed it up. I definitely want to seek out:

    "Jupiter, The Bringer of Jollity"

"Saturn, The Bringer of Old Age"
    "Uranus, The Magician"
    "Neptune, The Mystic"

I see Jupiter is on tap at the source and bottles are trickling out to shops in MI. Assuming I'll see it early next month here in IL. Brings up Saturn as the next release...cannot wait to get that in my glass.
