BA Three Floyds - Releases and Updates

I had Skull-ole on draft yesterday and it was fantastic. Super sour with an awesome cherry kick... Definitely worth grabbing a bottle or two if you are into the style.

agreed on the skull'ole. Super sour upfront. At times I could pick up some of the roastyness of the dark malts, but over all the acidity dominated. Nice tart cherry in the finish. I thought it was pretty tasty. Bummed to see it's already fallen off the to-go list as I was hoping this would stick around for a while like the chevalier. Oh well...

 

We just started packaging it. It gets filled on our 4 head table top filler, so it takes a lot longer than a standard run. It'll be around a while, we just need to bottle more.

 

Sorry if this is a dumb question but is this in reference to the question about BA behemoth or about skull'ole being gone so quickly? Either way is there a guess as to when they will be put out? I've got to plan a run to your shop sometime soon and would like to time it out to grab one of these if possible. Thanks!!

 

Website updated to show that Gumballhead is now for sale (and the only beer for sale).

I'm hoping there will be something more limited than that for sale once I swing by on Wednesday for New Years Eve.

 

They had Anicca when I was there on Friday. That's beer is pretty damn good.

 

anicca also was available last night. wasnt available first thing in the morning on sunday, but by noon or so, it was back on

Just cracked a conquistador de Muerte. Definitely infected. Very sour. Not terrible, but I'm not going to finish the bottle. Should I leave what beer I'm not drinking in the bottle and recap before returning or should I be fine going back with an empty bottle?

Have they just been giving $50 in credit at the brewpub / kiosk for returned bottles? Or are they replacing bottles with other barrel aged beers?

 

Here's to hoping they have Skull'ole on the 16th when I stroll in.

I'm pretty sure rye'd was the december release last year instead of black sun just like in '13. Hopefully they didn't just skip it but it's a possibility with all the monthly releases they've skipped over the past few years.

 

How much have you guys seen Blot Out The Sun on shelves for?

$18 by me at a place that doesn't really gouge, so that's crazy, why is distributor recommending such a high price? Dreadnaught, Cimmerian and others usually 11-13 so I'm at a loss.

I bought it since wanted to try it, and while good no reason to have it priced at such a premium.

 

It was $15 at the brewery and I've seen it for about the same price as you in stores. That's a pretty standard mark-up, IMO.
