Tonight they had all beer on sale, but not a huge sale... buck or so per 6 pack, some a bit more. But, the sign said "all beer" was on sale, presumably including their bombers and other limited beers. They have a big "Holiday Sale" banner in their window.
Not too surprised. Their location sucks and MGM, Blue Max and Total Wine are all in the same area with greater visibity.
I doubt they will go into "closeout" mode, as they can pickup the inventory and distribute it to their other stores around the metro.
"The store is liquidating its inventory over the course of the month, selling all remaining beer, liquor, spirits and fixtures." http://www.bizjournals.com/twinciti...le-haskells-to-close-total-wine.html?page=all
From what I was told, it is a franchise location, so moving inventory to other stores wouldn't happen. Don't quote me on that, didn't even know they had franchises.
even if it wasn't franchised they cannot move liquor from one store to another. They would have to send it back to the distributor.
Sad, they really got raw dogged by the Burnsville City Council and TW. I wonder how much longer the MGM will last.
I don't think so. They may have an agreement to move it to the distributor to move to another store though. It is in theory a paperwork issue
Swung in today and the manager was there, they had big bad baptist marked $12 but sold them to me at cost for $8.18/bottle. Probably 8 more bottles of that on the shelves, they'll negotiate on everything pretty much.
Neon signs from the front of the store were still there. Marked $150 and then crossed out with "best offer" written in. I didn't look at which ones were available. Also things like wine shelves and crates are for sale. The wine crates were marked $20 but he said they'd take $10. He said some of them sell for $50-60 on ebay depending on the winery on the crate. Some scotch/whiskey available also. Didn't look much at the scotch selection but Laphroaig Cask Strength and Ardbeg 10 stood out when I walked in. I imagine they'd do cost on those as well, so you'd probably get a sweet deal. If anyone is in the area it would make sense to stock up for cheap. A bunch of Central waters beers on the shelves, Green Flash Double Stout, La Trappe, Rochefort 6 & 8, Schell's North Country Brunette, Duchesse, Oatmeal Yeti are the ones I remember off hand. Glassware was pretty limited but all glasses marked $2.99 and I asked if they'd do 2 for 1 and they obliged so I bought some Leffe goblets. They also had Schell's and Lift Bridge pints.
was there earlier today. not much to be noted. the only signs available are a couple of neon signs that say 'tasting room' and 'wine'. talking to the lady, she said most of the vendor neon signs were snagged by employees. beer was pretty limited. most noteable was probably big bad baptist. they had about 12 bottles of that. looked like they had found some old stock. majority of it was batch 19. some batch 32 as well. beer was 20% off. wine 25%. spirits 15%. seemed like a lot of wine and spirits still remaining.
You left lots of stuff for me! Snagged a 6 pack of Expedition Stout for $12, a 4 pack of Green Flash double stout, 2 bottles of North Country Brunette, a 4 pack of 2013 Sierra Nevada Bigfoot and a 4 pack of 2011 Pepe Nero. All told 20 bottles were ~$70.
I thought about getting the North County Brunette too but hiding 4 bottles from the wife is harder than 2
