I'm thinking about going, but if so it won't be until close to midnight by the time I finish work. Could be slim pickings by then.

Does this mean there is beer brewed at the new Old Port location? I really like Sebago's beers, but my understanding was that the old location was no longer a brewery (maybe it was earlier on) and that all the beer was brewed in Gorham. I'm just curious to know if the new spot is an actual brewpub or a brewery-affiliated restaurant? Either way, it sounds like a cool program.

I believe they installed the pilot brewing system at their Gorham production facility. Sounds like an awesome event, wish I could make it!

Excellent time at Sebago tonight - please continue the pilot beer release series!

    My ranking:

Full Throttle IPA (not a pilot release but a pre-2012 sample of an old favorite) - so good this year!
    Cocoa Love
    Good Man Charles
    I'm 'Ol Ale
    The Throne XPA

Didn't try the Barrel Aged Lake Trout Stout or the Barrel Aged Slick Nick Winter Ale which was a mistake.

    I'll be back.

Sounds like an impressive and tasty line-up! Why do so many interesting beer events happen on the nights that my wife works, so I'm home alone with my son?

I would have gone but I don't care for their new location, there's never any parking near that area. It's prevented me from going there before, I do a few loops, give up and go over to Novare. It's pretty bad when deeper in the Old Port you have better odds of finding parking. The Hilton really needs to loosen their iron grip and dedicate some spaces to Sebago, huge lot that's hardly ever half full.

Nissa and I always end up parking on those weird little side streets up by Amato's and Sangillo's. Of course, because of Emmett, we're usually going during the day, not at 5pm. I think that's why we prefer the Scarborough location; plenty of parking and the same great beers and pretzels.

Novare and the new Sebago are like a 5 minute walk from each other. I usually park by Shipyard or the Courthouse and just walk. I've also been know to park at Wholefood. Having worked in Boston and Chicago I always chuckle when people complain about parking in Portland....

Need some help deciding on beers to bring for the tasting tomorrow. I want to bring things I have never tried and aren't on the list so far so I several assorted beers but I also (with Tim's help) have the full Yeti lineup including BA (which just read somewhere that may be infected so looking to drink soon). With this already being a big and dangerous theme I didn't want to just show up with everything also see some other dangerous verticles. The Yeti lineup is 6 beers. Any thoughts?

There's always more beer at the SMBDC events than any sane person should drink so I vote to continue this tradition and to bring in the Yeti vertical. I've already packed the one you asked for in my bag along with even more stouts than I've declared (I can't help myself either...). Worst case you bring them home with you to crack another day. We always sort through the contributions, select our path and manage not to harm ourselves too badly.

EDIT: Just looked at the declared list and WOW, we do have some interesting verticals forming. Sounds great to me and I'm willing to bring the one-offs back home for another day. Bring on the Yetis!

Same here, I also prefer the Scarborough location. I tend to be in that area more often because of the mall and Sam's Club, so it tends to be more convenient even though it's farther away from me.

I'm within walking distance from Rob's, so my vote is the more the merrier!

Still not sure what I'm bringing, but have plently to choose from

Now can tag the thread to keep in the loop & will watch for new incarnations for future gatherings. Been a couple summers now since I had the honour to sample amongst you folks. All is fine on the West Coast of New England.
