I'd say its pretty tough to call Green Man 'the best sour program in the state'. First off, three beers across 4 years for a total of 5 releases or so (Funk 49 once, Snozz twice, and Maceo twice? Maybe Snozz was only once), is hardly a 'program' I'd say you could argue between Natty Greene's and Wicked Weed, but regardless of whether Green Man puts out the best two sours in the state (which I'm not convinced of, mainly because I haven't had a chance to try either of them), it's tough to put them up against a brewery that is consistently putting out good sours (WW) and another that puts out a pretty solid number of them and does them very well (Natty Green's).

This is a great thread. It great to see Natty Greens, WW, and Green Man all making really quality sours. Natty Greens Gueuze was excellent, but imho Maceo is drinking a good bit better than american sour right now. 6 months ago I wouldn't have put WW in the lead as my favorite necessarily, but framboos morte has pushed them ahead of the pack in this degenerate's honest opinion. That said, I still think snozz is the best sour ever produced in NC. Either way I have a honey hole where I scored 5 bottles of snozz last year a MONTH after the release. Safe to say I'll be visiting that spot again this year.

Share your honey hole with papa bear.

Greenman's expansion also looks promising for more sours in the future, very much looking forward to that.

I've never had Snozz or Maceo, but would love to some this year. Just curious, but how much do these bottles generally sell for? Thanks in advance!

and if you miss out on getting a snozz or maceo I believe peaboys cellar sale had a bunch last year. That's where I got mine. Damn that was fun.

They just posted on their FB that Bootsy was dropping on Tuesday (the 27th). Says limit 2 per person, but that's really all the details it gave. No word on distribution.

Just saw that, nice. Now I guess the question is when will it hit distro? Because it's going to go quick as hell.

Hopefully their sours aren't anything like their non-sour barrel-aged offerings.
