I've been lurking here and reading up on the history when I have time and this thread is full of awesome! I'll have to come up with a LIF and join in on the fun here at some point in the near future. Ok, back to lurking again.

Looks like Sucaba releases Saturday after next. Is it on a lot of folks Wants, or fairly easy for most of you to get?

 

Sucuba is a perma-want for me...No access to it in Ohio/KY/Indiana but hoping I can track it down on the road...Great beer!

 

Permawant but something I might land a bottle of, depends on how nice my bottle shop owner is feeling toward me that week. Given how little he's seen me in the last month, he's probably not feeling all that nice right now.

edit: by the way, your long overdue payback box is packed up and ready to go out tomorrow. Hope you enjoy, I hit a couple wants and a local/limited GABF Gold Medal winner for good measure. (I will also admit right now that it doesn't come close to what you sent me, but no way was I going to be able to compete with that absurdity you sent me)

 

Haha sounds good, and I'm sure I will. I still feel bad about sending you an old ass Mint Chocolate Stout haha. Damn, liquor store. I bought an Espresso Oak Aged Yeti there the other week, tasted off and then I noticed it was from 2012 :|

 

I'm pretty sure the "old ass Mint Chocolate Stout" was a one-off that I specifically requested, I haven't drank it yet but if I'm right that it was a one-off, "old ass" is all there is Anyway, if you feel that bad about it, go ahead and send me a Sucaba to make up for it!

edit: I just checked and yes, it was a one-off, and as recently as last month it's getting 4.5 ratings, so it obviously didn't turn into vinegar yet

I've only had it on draft, its a permawant for me, but have never tracked down a bottle yet. FW reserve sells out within an hour here.

 

A want, and something I might be able to get but not without excessive effort. I randomly found a bottle last year, but if I really want it I need to drive 40 minutes and enter a "lottery" from a bottle shop; the winners will get to choose from a selection that I assume will include Sucaba (I know they'll have a bunch of other FW "boxed" beers). The problem is even if I win, the bottle selection will be first come first served and I'd have to make another trip with no guarantees of what I'd get -- two round trips involving over 2 hours and $12 in tolls is hard to justify when there is lots of other good stuff available in my cellar that I'm behind on.

 

I randomly found a bottle in a shop the last time I was in California just sitting on a shelf. You can bet I picked that up Haven't had a chance to try it yet though. Thinking about having a FW night sometime soon as I have Stickee Monkey thanks to this group and Sucaba and another guy in my drinking group has Parabola. Sounds like a fun night

 

This sounds like a perma want for many people in the group including myself. Fortunately, our market has a bit of better luck getting bottles like this and it's relatively easy for me to track down.

BTW 2013 Sucaba is probably one of the best beers I drank last year. Liked it better than '13 and '14 Parabola among many other things. Anyone holding onto a '13 is certainly in luck imho.

 

Pretty happy to hear that since I have a '13 Sucaba at home and haven't tried Sucaba yet!

 

FW doesn't distribute to KY, so, impossible to find around these parts. I is a want and I hope to find a bottle somewhere while traveling.
