Lol. Not the first time someone has said that, but this time I added some extra packing with the hope that it would also help insulate it from the cold. From the sounds of it there was no liquid (or ice) oozing from the box so that is awesome news!

 

I'm in the same boat... financially difficult to sign up this round, but MAYBE

@rspauldi definitely killed it with this box. Excited to see how the others he sent out stack up! Excited for the things I "knew" were going to be in here, as well as the other goodies! Even though Ten Fidy was the "only" want in here, I know a bunch of these are "should have been" wants, for sure! Thanks!

 

Be careful with that Yellow Rose. You'll drink it and then immediately want more. In fact, to avoid the headache, I'll drive up and take the bottle off your hands.

 

Wait is this the 6er, or a LIF box? if you count 2 smalls as 1 slot in a shipper, that fits in a 6 shipper, but wasn't he talking about LIF boxes? Either way, I'll go back to drooling over the YR

THB Barrel aged week coming up! Might actually try to snag some growlers this year.

 

Depending on where in Maryland you're situated, that wouldn't be too hard... I'm not far from the MD/PA border haha

 

Has Surly run Abrasive yet this year or any idea when that will be available? I am looking to schedule a work trip to MSP (the week of 1/26) but want to ensure I schedule it around Abrasive's availability !

 

they had test cans at the new brewery a couple of weeks ago, but it hasn't dropped yet. sometime in January is the word on the street. If you don't get any while you're here, I'm happy to send you some when it does drop (and anyone else in this thread that wants some), assuming temps are high enough to ship.

 

So happy to see everything made it without freezing.

The Yellow Rose is definitely fresh. New batches come out fairly frequently but it doesn't sit on shelves long at all. When I see it I grab it and either drink it right away or send it out right away, so it doesn't sit long on my shelves either.

The other LIF winner boxes will look very similar. Wanted to keep it as fair as possible. The exception is with valrxman since he was my target in Round 3. I had sent him a few of these beers in that box so I needed to switch some things up for him.

 

How regularly does it come out/where all can you get it? I have a friend in Austin who is coming up to the convention I'm going to in 2 weeks and I jokingly told her "once I have this I might decide you need to bring some for the share" but idk how easy it is to find/how often batches release

 

From what I've heard it's a lot more sparse outside of Houston and it's mostly on tap when available so she'd probably have to get a growler. If she is in Houston it's really easy to find though, bottles and draft.

 

It is a lot easier to find in Houston than it is in Austin. There is no set schedule for their releases but it seems to come out about every 2 weeks on average. But when it does come out it is widespread and easy to find.

Awesome. Thanks guys! She called her local shop and they said they are expecting a shipment sometime in the next week and to watch their social media, so hopefully she's able to grab one for the share.

 

Now I really can't wait to get down to Houston in May and drink this on tap!
