Can anyone help me out with a recommendation of a decent hotel that would be a short train and or cab ride to great lakes brewery. I stayed at a nice place years ago that was just off the train path and I cant for the life of me remember where it was.

I just spent an hour Googling. Any help would be appreciated.

Those prices are kind of silly for the time of the year, I mean you could stay at Aloft on the other side of the river and Uber it over there for the same price as those AirBnB spots.

Hey Joe! Although it does not get the greatest of reviews, Sherry and I have stayed at the Double Tree on Lakeside Ave east a couple times and were happy with it. You would need to take a cab to Great Lakes, about 2.5 miles or 6-7 minute car ride. It is walking distance to the 4th st. restaurant area. Make sure you check out the Westside Market near Great Lakes- amazing food choices!

The Marriot on 150th is probably what you are trying to find. It's a decent hotel and the Rapid station is walkable... it drops you right by Great Lakes. They also have a good beer and food place inside the hotel, AMP 150.

I have stayed at that Double Tree several times and have never had a problem. They also have a shuttle but I'm not sure how far they will take you. I'd imagine W. 25th has to be close to the border of where they would go.

Marriott on 150th also has a shuttle. I'm sure they would shuttle you to the rapid. W 25th station is about 2 blocks from Great Lakes.

Closest place to stay by Great Lakes is the hostel. If you are into hostels. It's maybe 2 blocks from Great Lakes.

STAY AT THE CLEVELAND HOSTEL! I go up to Cleveland twice a year and only stay at the hostel. Book a private room for 70 dollars and it is just like a hotel. Everything is clean, quiet, and they have an awesome rooftop. You are also one block away from Great Lakes and all the other awesome Ohio City bars. Also if you haven't been to NanoBrew, down the street from GL, check it out.

I got the chance to hang out with a fellow BA from NY and he stayed at the hostel. Had zero complaints about it. FWIW

Got a room at the Hampton Inn for 102 a night - perfect.
That hostel only has 1 room with a separate bathroom. No offense but... No. Need a separate bathroom.

Anywhere downtown is fine...you can take the train but a cab or Uber ride from downtown to Great Lakes will be about 5-10 minutes. If you've got the time I would try to check out Platform as well...some good stuff going on over there.

If you are going to be downtown and want a nice place to have a beer, try Winks at 1301 East 9th. I was there in October and they have Three Floyds Alpha King on tap along with a bunch of other nice drafts.

Tremont Tap House is probably open until 11 or 12. I don't think there is much downtown open late on Sundays with a good selection.

Fat heads brewpub has bodhi on but only fills growlers of their own beers. Rozis is usually a good bet for bodhi growlers.

Since when? I go to the brewery mostly now, but they used to fill anything.

City Tap is ok and open late. Winking Lizard is next door, but I don't know the hours.

I think its been a year or more. Around the same time they stopped selling all types of bottles to go maybe... I think there is an Ohio law that prevents breweries from filling growlers of other beers, it may require some other type of license. I honestly have no clue why or how it works this way. I'm guessing it has something to do with taxes, archaic laws or lobbyists.
