I don't see the point of camping out for this release. No drinking outside of the parking lot, no special treatment Zhukov growlers like last year, plenty of Hunahpu wristbands to go around. Maybe if they put the Dark Lord or Funky Buddha on tap at 11am you can rush in and get a 4 oz pour, but besides that I expect it to be pretty laid back.

Ditto...it would seem like a punishment to be there that long.

Question to those who attended last year, i know there were issues last year with crowds. Have the things announced so far better/different than what was announced last year?

The issues were at the BA Hunahpu release, Hunahpu Day ran smoothly last year.

I agree with the other response that it was not bad last year, but they also made some changes that will make things move run even smoother at Hunahpu (or at least it sounds like it will). The growler and bottle purchase lines were a bit of a zoo just due to so many people waiting around in line. With no growlers and multiple locations for bottle purchases according to their announcements, that should reduce the waiting in line once you get in even more.

Huna day last year did run smooth. I showed up at 11 walked right in got my wrist band and started imbibing. Why you camp overnight I don't understand. Showing up early to get a sample of some "rare" beer I can see.

Last year I showed up at noon waited in line for about 15min and the fun started. Ran smoothe. The BA hunahpu was a lot crazier than hunahpu release, but it was only crazy b/c it was in such a confined space. This will be in tha parking lot and brewery, so plenty of room for people to stretch and not whine.

I'll be in line as soon as I can. No sense in getting a hotel room if you're getting into tampa at 4am.

I still think they are going to do some special growler fills, or something that encourages people to chill around all day... Raffle maybe?... just a hunch.

Only reason to wait in line is to get some of that free Cuban coffee & bread they're giving out!

    I'm bringing - Campeador Greeves
    Weyerbacher Rapture & Idiots Drool
    Dfh WWS 08 & Olde School 08
    Victory Dark Intrigue

Thats it for now. I'm sure I'll have room for more.

Hit me up for share or trade!
    Can't wait til Sat!!

I'll be there earlier than last year actually, I rolled in 30 minutes after gates and got to get everything I wanted from the taps because everyone was lining up for growlers. This year, since there's no growlers and other bottles for sale, I'll actually want to get there relatively early (probably a half hour before gates) to get what I want from the taps.

I live in St. Pete and am thinking about going to the release, however I will, for various reasons, not be available until approx. 2 p.m. Assuming I am only interested in picking up some bottles of Hunahpu (wife would not appreciate me getting sloshed, and I am new to craft so don't have much to trade aside from 2 bottles of DFH 120 that I have been aging for my son's birth and some Hopslam), would it still be worth going?

    Yes... Yes... Yes... Yes... Yes...

They will be releasing things throughout the day that would be worth waiting around to try... for example, I believe they tapped the keg of Jolly Guava at 3:30 or some random time like that last year.

I will be at Peg's the night before, so I can't see getting to CCB any earlier than 0800.

If you are only interested in grabbing a few bottles, then I would say no. The wristbands will be long gone by then. There is a possibility if you show up at 7:30PM that you may score some bottles.

Just an FYI, PEGS is tapping RareER D.O.S Friday night (Rare D.O.S. in a Rum barrel instead of Whiskey, only 15 gallons made). Sounds amazing, wish I could make it down!

Anyone have any of the "ISO:FT" up for trade?

They will give out wristbands until they run out of bottles to sell... so assuming 3000 bottles like last year... we are looking at 1000 wristbands. Not to mention if people don't buy their full allotment... etc... if you get there at 2 I would be very surprised if you don't get a wristband.

    Agree.
I would email CCB just to make sure the drive won't be for nothing. They are good at providing a quick response.
