Nice. I had to go edit my first review. My first trip shortly after they opened wasn't too bad, picked though the high prices and old bottles and found some decent stuff. The second trip was rough though, only left with one bottle and that's mostly because I have a habit of not walking out of any place with beer empty handed. The problem for me is the distro they have is so much better than Harrisburg and it's the closest place that gets all of the good stuff. My last trip I went a little further to Pinocchio's and had a much better experience and left with a ton of awesome bottles.

Is Pinocchio's comparable in selection? I moved to Malvern a year ago, and haven't been there yet.

Pinnochio's may not have as many individual bottles/4&6 packs to choose from compared to Beer Store Malvern, but they get stellar beers often, and what you can't find at Pinnochio's, you'll find at Whole Foods and Wegmans. Pinnochio's will add you to their e-mail list so you know what's coming up, not to mention all of the cool events they do and actually give to you time plan for, unlike our friend in Malvern. Pinnochio's food is awesome too! It's worth a trip to Media if you haven't been there grimey, and make sure to hit Quotations if you have some time. Stellar spot!

In my limited experience yes they have a comparable selection, they were even wiped out from the holiday season rush when I was there and I still came away with this haul:

Ask if they have anything stashed behind the counter or new in the back, that's where a few of these came from.
They also had Prairie Christmas Bomb on draft at the time, which was awesome.

Nice haul. How much are they charging for the RR sours?

I stumbled upon a BA Old Raspy, RR Supplication, and 50/50 Java last week while enjoying a glass of Prarie Christmas Bomb at Pinnochio's. I think I paid $18? for the RR. Pretty much the going price wherever I've found it locally. BSM charges $18.99 + tax, and good luck scoring one when he posts it ;p

They're doing nitro growler fills of Sly Fox for 12 bucks at Malvern. Doesn't nitro not really work for growler fills?

Damn, TJ's in Paoli got in a few Supplications last week for $13 each, no tax. I grabbed two immediately.

They add tax there? Any place doing so is in the wrong. Tax is already paid at the wholesale level when the beer is bought from them.

Yes, they do tax at BSM. I'm not certain what is right, but Wegmans and Whole Foods don't tax - but they're also grocery stores. Not certain where the lines are drawn though.

That's an incredible price. $18 is pretty standard. Also Sly Fox growler fills In Phoenixville are $6 on Wednesdays

    I frequent
You lucked out with finding Supp for that price grimey. I hit TJ's once a week typically, but have never seen Supp there for sale. Consider that a lucky find and congrats! I would have grabbed some had I known it was there. TJ's is one of my go to spots, and has been for years. Try the Flying Pig in Malvern, Pour House in Exton, and Teresa's in Wayne, if you haven't yet. Stellar spots.

Correct. There should be no PA sales tax, yet Darren somehow swindles a few dollars/cents out of everyone which probably goes directly into his bottomless pocket! You'd think someone who owns beer distributors, bottle shops, and goodness knows what else, would play by the rules. Nope.

At whole foods at least, the tax is included in the sale price

I've been to all of them! I live a block away from The Flying Pig and love it.

Since they got rid of the big fridges in the big bar area (I think driven by the arrival of Wegmans a few years ago), they generally don't hang onto a huge bottle selection and oftentimes will "blow out" the cases of rare beer they get by charging a really fair price and announcing it on Facebook. Just follow their page.

I've never heard of one brewery ever willing to do growler fills of beers they have on nitro so I would say no it doesn't work for growlers.

I'd also like to chime in to say that the increasing prices and horrible experience with the raffle a couple weeks ago have totally turned me off to this place.

Oh, and get this: I got blocked by them just for LIKING someone's comment about bait & switch pricing on FB. What a ridiculous business this is. But selling craft beer these days might as well be printing money, so I guess we're just going to need to put up with this place.
