2013 Old Stock Cellar Reserve-Bourbon

Grabbed one tonight for $21.99.

 

I have 2 bottles of 07 BBA old stock. Anyone know how it's drinking?

 

So should I cellar the 2013 Reserve for a year or two?
I only have one bottle and, at $22 a pop, don't really wanna fark it up.

I LOVE regular Old Stock but have only tried it fresh.

 

I had mine last night and while I loved it, it was quite hot. Not near as smooth as my last 2009 bottle. I'd say sit on it for a year at least if you can't get a second bottle to try it fresh.

This . . . this is great news. I thoroughly enjoyed the 2011 Brandy, can't wait to get my hands on this puppy. Love the price, too, means I won't have to rush and will be able to get as much as I want.

 

the 2009 I had in 2013 was crazy good - left it out for 45 mintues to open up and de-carbonate a bit. the 2011 was even better. the 2013 I just had was not quite on point given the standard set by the other two, maybe age is the thing idk but the 2011 fresh was straight malted brandy

 

Just tried my first regular Old Stock last night. Local store had one 4 pack of the 2013 left, so I grabbed it. Bit hot, but powerful. Going to cellar the other 3 for a bit. Question for the community - how long of a shelf life do you think the 2013 has?

Shelf life is at least ten years IMO. I've had it as old as eight and still loved it.

 

just hit shelves in Massachusetts...Red Stone Liquors in Stoneham has 13

Quality Liquors in Salem has the 09 and 11...

 

If you love the price per oz then you're ******ed...

 

Except he explains his reasoning, "... means I won't have to rush and will be able to get as much as I want." If he's got the disposable income, then a higher cost is actually a good thing because it reduces demand, making it easier for those who want it to get it without hassle.

Just came to my local shop this past week, so much of it in fact that it's on the shelf rather than being a "back room special".
It's such a great beer. I only wish I had an 09 with which to drink this one...

Damn, by what some of you are saying I got ***** at $26.99 at Red Carpet Liquor in RC.

 

Ha, no worries man. I know it's crazy expensive, but my time is far more valuable to me than my money, so paying extra bucks to not have to chase it around town is worth it to me.

 

I had the '07 about 11 months ago and it was amazing.

 

drank one of the 2013 on Saturday night. Pretty disappointed. Thinking some age may help it out a bit.

Huge fan of 2009 and 2011, this one just was way out of balance.
