Visiting Cleveland - Hotel recommendations

When are you going?

 

It was actually an unintended consequence of the Tap Room bill from what I've heard. Unclear wording in the bill, which passed in April 2013, was interpreted by the state to mean that a place that produces beer can't sell anything other than their own beer to go.

 

And to further clarify, beer that was produced on-site. That's why you can't buy bottles of FH to go from the North Olmsted brewpub because it's all produced and bottled in the production brewery in Middleburg Heights. I live a lot closer to the brewpub so I was pretty bummed when I found that out last year.

 

I thought it was only bottles; didn't know it included growlers. Leave it to politicians to draft idiotic legislation.. fuck them all.

You guys realize you are giving all the Cleveland insider tips to a Steelers fan right? Ok, proceed!

 

Looks like you've got it settled, but I like the Residence Inn Dowtown. Walkable to the Tower City transit stop and the casino, right next to 4th Street for bars, and I like having the fridge in room for storing my haul (especially growlers)

 

I'll be visiting cleveland this weekend and I'm looking for bodhi as well. Anyone know of a place doing growlers? Nothing on beermenus. Winks has it but they don't do growlers, right? La cave du vin has it listed as on deck but do they do growlers?

It is on tap at Rozi's in Lakewood (they just put it on yesterday I do believe). They do growlers!

Also, having your first-round pick is not nearly as exciting as we hoped it would be.

 

I like Pettine, but knowing our history w/high draft picks I fear we will waste or trade it.

Whole first round was a bust this year, so yea, most likely will be wasted.

 

I stayed in the Aloft when I ran the marathon last year. The hotel was nice, but the staff was horrible. From the valets to the front desk, everyone had an attitude and made it seem like you were bothering them. I am a very low maintenance traveller, so it wasn't as if I was being bothersome. Only other place I have stayed is the Holiday Inn Express on Euclid and although not as nice as the Aloft, never had any issues there.

Also for the person looking for Bodhi, my wife and I found it on tap at Pickwick and Frolic last time we were in town.
