After just stumbling upon Kellerweis a couple mos ago, and then subsequently reading that its future might be at risk....I sincerely hope that another lighter SN product introduction isn't indirectly threatening Kellerweis.

I understand that they're different styles, but you never know.....

    Saw it.
    Bought it (12 pack cans).
    Drank it.
    Loved it.

SN continues to do no wrong in my book. Cheers!

Well, the epitome of a hoppy Pilsner is fresh Victory Prima Pils.

Have you had the chance to drink a fresh Firestone Walker Pivo Pils?

    Cheers!

How does this compare to Firestone Walker's Pivo Pils, one of the very very few pilsners I enjoy?

Are you able to purchase fresh Pivo Pils?

    Cheers!

I can't purchase any Pivo Pils where I am. Sadly, I am no longer in FW's distribution zone.

Curious because I am not enough of a fan of the style or Sierra Nevada to simply just try this one. Need to do my research first.

I picked up a six pack yesterday at Total Wine. ($10.99!)

I'd hoped to get a fresh six of Prima but there were only old bottles available. So no luck in a head to head comparison.

Overall, the Nooner Pilsner is a solid German Pilsner and I'd expect that it will be fairly easy to find fresh. Nonetheless, I'm not convinced that it will replace Prima as my go-to Pilsner.

I have had 3 FW Pivo Pils drinking experiences:

    · A 3 month+ old 6-pack when it was first distributed to PA (two years ago?)

    · On draft at a local beer bar

    · On draft at the beer event

The Pivo Pils at the beer event had a BIG ‘pop’ of hop flavor/aroma. That beer was glorious.

For the other two beer drinking experiences the Pivo Pils was very good but not close to the beer event Pivo Pils.

I can state with 100% certitude that Nooner Pils is not comparable to the beer event Pivo Pils. Nooner Pils is comparable to the other two Pivo Pils beers.

Hoppy beers can be very ‘tricky’ since beer age can play a big role in the drinking experience.

    Cheers!

    Thanks for that.

My experiences with Pivo Pils sound more like your non-beer event experiences. So perhaps I will buy a single of the Nooner Pils.

it definitely has a breadiness but isn't that part of the style? I'm not the biggest pilsner guy but I thought that breadiness was pretty common.

sorry i know that wasn't addressed to me, hopefully you don't mind my opinion too much. they are very different. Summerfest is spicier whereas this is grainier and more citrusy. it's more balanced, if you will. not saying one is better then the other, although i personally prefer nooner. cheers.

Checking the Tampa TW site, Nooner is 8.99/6, the same as Prima and Mamas, and 1.50 more than Noble. Summerfest last year was 14.00/12 cans. Right now, Nooner is bottles only. I'll pick one bottle up in a mix-six, but at the price, Prima and Mamas are doggone good. European pilsners and pizza; good stuff. (C'mon, Mr Bill, y'all can match Sammy)

Very solid Pilsner. Nice and crisp with dry finish as expected. I really like this beer and could be my go to always in the fridge type beer. For Pils this is a winner. Now if we can get Bill to get SN to do a seasonal of Vienna Lager for us lager heads!

I've been looking for sixers of this in my area but all I've found are the 12 packs of cans for $15.99 and up.

Let me preface the following statement with I love German Lagers, and I particularly love me some German Pilsner. Prima Pils has always been my easy to get go to but no more. Nooner is one of the best if not the best German Pilsners I've had. Floral hop bouquet, firm bitterness with that pilsner forward cracker like malt backbone. So drinkable it's scary. I can't say enough about this beer and I hope we see this go year round.

    Cheers. Pat.
