Is there a beer you love, but it taste different almost every time you have it?

Also, how do you know the beer you are drinking taste like the brewer intended it to? You could have the same brew at the brewery, a local bar or bottle/can and get a different result each time. How do know the taste is true? Specially if you're trying the beer for the very first time. And let's assume the bottling date/freshness is the same in all scenarios.

If there were that many inconsistencies in the same beer every time I tried it , it wouldn't be my favorite beer and I would stop drinking it.
    Just saying.

Have to agree. A little batch variation might be acceptable, but if the beer tastes different every time it would not be a favorite.

Breakfast stout. It was the beer that started my craft beer obsession and I buy it every year. When I first tried it in 2010 it blew me away. I buy it every year and every year there's something different. There's no way to tell if it's me or the beer, but it doesn't matter. I've decided I won't be buying it again but I still cherish my memories of my first four pack of breakfast stout.

Used to love Bourbon Barrel Plead the Fifth, but the last 2 years have had a considerable drop in quality.

    What about you OP?
You posed the question, without a reference.

I'd have to say zombie dust. I love it, but nothing compares to a pour youd get at the brewery. Just picked up a sixer bottled on 12/29 and it is nothing like the ZD I've grown to love. A bit disappointed...

Big Bad Baptist but its supposed to be that way! I actually enjoy the variations for the most part. Super coffee forward, caramel forward, chocolaty and roasty...it's like a box of chocolates you never know what you're gonna get!

Anchor Steam always tastes different on tap than from bottles. I prefer it much more from the bottle.

I don't have a single favorite, but among them... Sculpin varies a lot to me. Draft, can, bottle, freshness date.
