Olde Hickory Brewing's OMEGA POINT

I hear it is looking like a February release now but not certain.

 

As much as I love OHB, this is now slightly getting annoying. Please, please OHB come out and tell us something in regards as to at least a time frame we can expect it to come out, and then stick to it! I know a lot is going on with the change of labels and what not, but not all of us have every weekend off! Would be nice to be able to have a chance to plan for it! Sorry, rant over, just been waiting on this for a long time now...

 

I mean for real. When are they going to release this somebitch? OHB Take note, you make great beer but join the rest of us in the 21st century and post some shit on twitter or something!

 

While sometimes frustrating, I to some extent agree with OHB's methods. I've talked to the brewer/co-owner a couple times about it (as I'm sure a number of locals have) and he just really doesn't want to hype his stuff. He wants it to stand on its own. Any hype being generated and causing people to gnash their teeth is being generated by us

So yeah, I agree with @nas4atu (and we've certainly talking about it in person as well) that its annoying, but I'm kind of okay with that.

@nas4atu if you end up not being able to make it, I'm sure there's someone that can help you out. I certainly will if the usual suspects can't I know it would still suck to miss the planned party/kegs to go along with the release though.

Pump your brakes, folks....take the extra time to pinch enough pennies to grab another bottle.

(if this is brewery only and anyone wants to grab me some, I can make it worth your while! I'm stuck at home w/ a newborn so I won't be able to go regardless of release date.)

 

Hopefully it will be on a weekend and the limit will be more than one. I'd love to drink one now and keep one for later...as if 7 years wasn't enough lol.

 

I'd say with 99.9% certainty that it'll be on a weekend. And I'd be -really- surprised if the bottle limit is 1...

 

I completely understand about them not wanting to create hype around the beer, it's one of main things I love about OHB and how they run things. I know its not easy to set up a brewery release, especially their first one and all. I guess I'm just getting tired of hearing about "potential" dates is all. It would be nice if someone from the brewery could at least come out and tell us things have been delayed or something along those lines, it doesn't even have to be a concrete date yet. I really just want to make this release, and with how my work schedule is, I'll more than likely will have to work and can't get out of it considering they won't give a release date until a few days before. Which, again, I'm fine with how they do that, instead of creating a massive headache like some other breweries do with their releases. I'm just excited and eager I guess! As to when it will be released, I'm almost certain I remember Steven telling me it would be like a Saturday morning with a bottle share party the night before at the brewery. Then he said something in regards to handing out bracelettes and around a 4 bottle per person limit. Of course, this could all change, so hopefully we will hear something soon!

 

has there been any further development on the release of this beer?

 

Literally about to post about it. We had some hang ups and didn't want to make any promises until we had beer in bottles.

Did they post somewhere that its coming out Feb 7? Haven't seen that anywhere yet, and I just took a quick look through the interwebs for news.

It's March 7th, they just posted it on FB.

 

And of course I'll be out of the country since they pushed so long. Oh well Will have to get the wife to attend hopefully!

 

@treznor if your wife can't make it, let me know. I'll be glad to pick you up a bottle provided there's not a 1-per limit

Damn. I know I've asked before. But if anyone could help me out with this it would be much appreciated/paid back. I've got a recent little one and won't be able to get out for a beer-related trip!

 

Add me to the list of people who regrettably can't make it -- that's my son's fourth birthday.

Hope I'll get a chance to try it at some point, and hate that I'm missing the first bottle release at the brewery!
