Any word on if/when this is happening this year?

    Nothing formally announced yet.

I did see on their Twitter feed someone asked them the other day and they said they'd be making an announcement "soon."

Really excited for it this year. Went with a group of friends to the 4th year party last year and had a blast. Hopefully it's run similarly this year and not like the trainwreck that was their Octoberfest party
    (oh boy was that rough....).

My assumption is real soon on the announcement. Can't wait, such a well run event!

I thought it was really cool at the Kedzie brewery last year. Super well run event. Maybe they can sell more tickets at the Riv?

Boo for Friday and change of venue! Liked it the way it was, but I get it. Unfortunately, its like the one week I absolutely can't go. Gonna miss it :slight_frown:

Being on a Friday and in a larger venue, I'd imagine it'll be 1 session instead of 2.

They said the venue move is because of brewery renovations. That also explains the unusually shitty Oktoberfest last year in the huge empty warehouse.

That is a huge bummer, gonna be passing on it this year.

yea this is a downer....last year's 4th year anniversary was so perfectly run.

I am guessing this ends up just being a big concert of some sort with Rev on tap all night? I dunno.

I am personally OK with this. If they can make it a better event with good bands and Rev on tap all night, its win-win. Granted, I haven't been to one of their anniversary events (just grand openings for each location), so I don't know how they've been. But I wasn't a fan of the opening of the Kedzie taproom, so I didn't go out of my way.

As long as its not an overpriced Justin Bieber-style show, I like the idea. Riv is a great venue.

Sorry to disagree with the previous poster, but I can't stand the RIV. I wouldn't mind them having to have their party off-site (notably since they are expanding/renovating), but the RIV? Yuck (to me -- personal preference, only). Still, I'll go probably. I'm literally consuming an Anti Hero as I write this, so hard for me to say I won't go where Rev is throwing a party.

I think this is the same date as Founder's deal in Michigan, too; St. Paddy's Day events all around.

For me, I hate the Aragon, but I went to a food event there a few years back and it was flawless. Granted there were no bands performing and it was just booths set up all throughout the main floor and balcony, but it was a really great event.

I don't think the Riv is really equipped to handle something similar. So I'm with @BeerHistoryGuy on this. The Riv...ehhh. And if it ends up being just a night of bands and Rev brews on tap, it'd be a little disappointing, especially considering last year's blow out with 12 courses of amazing food and some rare brews on tap to match. Really the best beer event I've been to, hands down.

I was so sick last year, @HartsyThaiFood, that I couldn't get out of bed. I certainly couldn't have any beer. I missed that event -- sounds like I missed a good one!

Yeah, that sounds about right. I love Revolution AND Andrew WK. But I've seen enough AWK shows to not feel obligated to go to this one.

The one saving grace would be if he changes the lyrics from 'I Love NYC' and switches up "New York City" for "Rev-o-lution." That would be sort of great.....

This is unfortunate. All the Rev parties I've been to have been nothing short of outstanding but I'm probably gonna pass on this one. Don't Iike the whole "concert with all Rev beers" idea.

$39.11/ticket after fees for a "rock show" and no beer or food included. O wait, they'll have "party price" beers whatever the fuck that means. Looks like the old days of good Rev parties is going by the wayside.
