FYI they just tapped out of Kiwi. Guy in front of me got the last pour. They said another keg will be tapped tomorrow morning.

 

Looks like it's back on as I'm seeing fresh pics. Sounds like they're really slammed right now though.

I dig Almanacs, but they're all pretty much the same. This is definitely better than Almanacs IMO.

 

Anyone that did not use a BPT login get refunded? I got no activity.

Here's to hoping they have a couple kegs allocated for each day throughout the pick up window

Hazy straw yellow body. Aroma is pure lemon juice, taste is sour with grassy fruit. Was expecting balance, didn't perform.

Had a fresh pour at lunch side by side with this new batch of Nelson, Kiwi is excellent, but what was amazing was having it side by side with the fresh Nelson, it brought out the grapefruit in the Nelson like never before.Win Win

FB as in people who are at Alpine are reporting what is being said to them.

 

Don't believe everything you hear. We were there today and Sean and Steve said nothing remotely to what you are saying, things could have changed in the last two hours however.

 

But but..the voices.....they tell me to burn things....

 

Just got back from Alpine, pretty much packed all pm. The kiwi herman was excellent (but imo not quite the epic whale all the traders are hyping it as)....honestly the new batch of Nelson is epic and worth the drive alone. Since I missed out on bottles of Kiwi I was pretty stoked to get it on draft!

 

Honest question: Which whales have you had to compare it to? I'm hearing all sorts of stuff: Better than DDG, same as Almanac etc.

 

I would put it on par with the good RR and Bruery Sours (better than Almanac). I will admit I have not had much de Garde, Rare Barrel, and rare LA sours. I had Sourrento at Bruery a couple weeks ago and would put it in that category. One guy I was with said it was like Veritas with Kiwi Soda flavoring... For me it had the kiwi up front and good sour but not much strawberry. Perhaps with age in a bottle that will come out more?

 

But also to answer your question, I wouldn't trade a high end BBA Stout for one of these.... If I had a Prop, I'd keep the Prop
