Bells Black Note-Number of Vintages? 2015 release?

If your not a part of the BNSS then good luck finding out a release date.

As far as past releases it was released in 750's in 2012 and in 12 oz bottles. IIRC it was released in January of 2013 as well (2012 batch) but i'm not 100% sure. Then again last March of 2014. That's it as far as I know.

Best thing to do is keep your eye's peeled on BA (in the Great Lakes forum and in the beer releases forum) and someone will eventually spill the beans.

Bell's doesn't announce Black Note releases. It just shows up at the General Store one day.

Or, you can call the store everyday like some people do and ask.

 

No problem. They wont stop making it-i'd be shocked if so. I would also keep an eye on their events page as sometimes they have local tap takeovers with it on tap. Was the first BA beer I ever had. I have that to blame for my addiction!

 

I count 4: 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014 vintages of Black Note. But I could have counted wrong.

 

Im assuming draft only for 2010 and 2011?

 

Last year when we knew that it was coming, Bells just kept saying that it will be ready when it's ready so they don't shoot for an actual release date.

Bottle wise I believe Ckoz is correct:
750ml in 2012
12ozers in Jan 2013 (2012 label)
12ozers in Mar 2014

 

Can't speak to 2010 and 2011, but they definitely released it in 2013 too, 12 oz bottles.

Would have to dbl check with Bell's, but I believe it was draft + limited release of 750 ml bottles.

The 2011 Black Note was definitely on tap this past July @ The Fitz in Eagle River, MI.

 

Huh, no shit. Had no idea. Were the 750's the ones released in 2012? Or a smaller batch? I do recall seeing that there were 2 batches of bombers....but Im not 100% sure.

it was sold in 2013 but it was 2012 Black Note. same batch that was sold in the 750s in 2012.

 

I hope they release Barrel Aged Black Note this year.

 

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not, but Black Note is barrel aged.

 

Prior to the late 2012 release (Nov or Dec with bombers) it had been 2 years since the release (anything anyone got on draft between then was likely from late 2010 early 2011 batch.

I thought there was an early 2012 release (January?) of bombers, then again at the end of 2012 in bombers, then 12oz bottles at the beginning of 2013 (same batch), then 2014 12oz bottles. I'm 100% positive I saw bombers early 2012

 

I didn't know that, I thought it was a new batch. Glad I got to try it a few times then!
