I get a case of Insanity most years because it is damn good, affordable, easy to find, and comes in 12oz bottles. I like having BA beer in the cellar but I want a change this year. I just can't think of anything else that meets the above criteria.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm stumped. Barleywines are my first choice but I'm open to others styles. No Dragon's Milk though. Thanks in advance!

Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Barleywine or their Bourbon Barrel Stout might work for you if you can find a case. There is also DuClaw Hell On Wood which you may be able to find.

EDIT: Also, Full Pint Rye Rebellion & Fegley's BA Insidious.

Are you looking for any that are available? Or are you looking for options from local brewers?

Founders Backwoods Bastard is 12 oz bottles and more economical that some other barrel aged beers. It's a November release, not sure if any still around

I'm sure you're looking primarily for spirit barrel aged. But Dogfish Head's Palo Santo Marron and Burton Baton are both aged in their wood tanks (palo santo and oak, respectively).

I think Palo Santo Marron has some of same flavors you get from bourbon barrels - oak, vanilla, caramel. And a bit boozy when fresh since it's 12% abv. Both available in 12 oz bottles and full cases too.

Hey @DIM - Duclaw released Devil's Due in December, which is a blend of their Retribution bba stout and Devil's Milk barleywine. I grabbed a bottle yesterday for $4, and my local shop got 3 cases. Not sure if they are discounting price for a case. At that per bottle cost, the case will run you $96.

It's a good brew, though maybe a bit heavy on the carbonation. Some time will probably do it wonders.
