Lets hope they take their time and do it right (unlike some other local places that have rushed to market)

From my experience with Uncle Billy's the brewing is about the only thing they were ever doing right. I have faith in Brian and Amos.

Brian's been into brewing beer for many many years. Everything I've had from uncle billy's has been at least decent if not pretty good. I've only met him briefly but he seemed like a really cool guy.

Agreed the food is mediocre at best, the beers on the other hand were quite tasty.

That's the silliest sounding brewery name yet. Austin Beer Garden Brewing Company. Say it 5 times fast. Do it.

Brian Peters is a talent though. I mean, the guy helped invent Live Oak Hef.

I hope that Uncle Billy's has a contingency plan in place already with new brewers training or trained. Where exactly is this new Brewpub going anyways? I see they are in my home zip of 78704.

I heard it through the grapevine(uncle billys lake travis) that it wont be far from barton springs and that its not a solo project like it sounds. (although, it sure sounds like a break away to me). I plan on quizzing Tim tomorrow if he still works afternoons for now.

Damn, seriously? Jalapeno cheese sausage is tasty, and i'd kill someone with my bare hands for the mac and cheese...

Well a place that focus's on BBQ should make some decent shit. Medicore at best is a compliment. A heaping bowl of some damn tasty ,mac & cheese is not what I am expecting at a BBQ place. To be fair I haven't tried any burgers or sandwiches just the BBQ which I assumed would be the focus of a place called Uncle Billy's brew and Cue.

I love ub's and i agree the food isnt all that, but i think a tad better than mediocre. Decent in my book, but not great for sure, esp since they got rid of the creamed corn and mashed taters. At least the creamed corn(the way they made it) was something different. Then again, for a state that is supposed to have the best steak around, i havent been super impressed with many steaks so far.

I just go for the beer anyway
