this sounds right. i feel like i remember two releases in 750s. i know my 750 and my 12oz 2012s are the same batch. ISO: original BN 750.

I've always been curious if the name change for this beer corresponded directly to when they switched from doing it draft only to packaged in bottles as well. Did "Black Note" appear when bottles started showing up or was the name changed from "Bourbon Barrel Double Cream/Expedition Stout" while it was still just kegs?

I do not know the exact moment that the name changed, but I am almost 100% certain it changed while it was still just in kegs. I remember when it was "Bourbon Barrel Double Cream/Expedition Stout" in October 2010 for the first Cleveland Beer Week; the following year, I was at an event where Larry Bell was present and he was asked specifically if "Black Note" kegs were coming to Ohio. This was definitely before it was packaged in bottles.

THIS IS WHEN BLACK NOTE HAS BEEN RELEASED:

February 2012 in 750 ml bottles
December 2012 in 750 ml bottles
Early 2013 (a few weeks after the second 750 release) in 4-packs (labeled as 2012)
    Spring 2014 in 4-packs

That's it. Four releases. Twice in 750s and twice in 4-packs.

Didn't they say they wouldn't do general store releases of BN anymore after last year? Just distro it...(?)

Good, I hoped I got that wrong.

Your right BA isn't the place to ask beer related questions.

I'm going to be a spoil sport. I've heard from two completely different sources, neither of which close to Bells and credibility tbd, that there will be no BN this year. Supposedly......the barrels are being used for Saturn. Not saying I believe this and hope its not true, but that's what I've heard.

Ahh yes, that was what hastened the release at the General Store last year, wasn't it?

They released it the same day as Gramd Rapids KBS distro, which I think was the original plan. But the Mimmeapolis thing was a flub for sure

The first rule of the BNSS is you don't talk about Black Note. We do not announce a release date so as to try to keep the shitshow to a minimum. No tickets, lottery or numbers. I appreciate very much your interest in the beer.
