from recent experience it seems to just be a madhouse all day on weekends.. they'll open a bigger place soon enough though. up to you if you want to drive and brave it or just stay in the city and go to societe, modern times etc

Mr. K's is legit, plus super nice guys!

Honestly if you can skip Green Flash and Societe, I would go to Alpine. From Modern Times its about a 30min drive or so.

Belching Beaver in SD is solid.

    Cheers

Kiwi Herman isn't available to just anyone off the street though, is it? Bottles I mean. Though I will NOT say no to a fresh glass!

Bottles are all spoken for, draft should be available tomorrow and I guess sunday now. But obviously limited quantities.

If you want to eat lunch at Stone, you should make reservations. Great restaurant, but the wait can be ridiculous on weekends.

You have to hit Council in SD and hopefully Toolbox in Vista.

And I would totally skip Smog City and El Segundo, and make it to Highland Park Brewery in the evening after your Beachwood visit. By the time you're done with HPB you're not too far from your hotel.

appreciate the advice...it's just 2 days too late lol. I did get to sample Griffith J. Griffith (HPB) and My Cousin, Strawberry (Toolbox) at a share yesterday though, both excellent!

It's been an awesome trip so far though

    Friday after I landed:
Tony's Darts Away for a few
Beachwood BBQ for dinner & a few more

    Saturday:
breakfast at Nick's Cafe, then headed south
    Legacy Brewing
    Lost Abbey/Port Brewing
Coronado (new tap room in SD)
    Modern Times
late lunch w/ friends at Toronado
    Helm's
Societe - started to die right about here, barely made it to
    Council, then home

    Sunday:
    Strand Brewing
    Smog City
    El Segundo
epic bottle share at @StonedRaider's pad

    Today:
    lunch at Golden Road
    Bootlegger's
(pause to buy Hunaphu's Day tickets)
    Noble Ale Works
meet up with some locals at Bruery
    shop at Mr. K's
Bottle Logic if I'm still alive

Your Monday (today) sounds perfect! Love Mr K's ... they just got a ton of Grapefruit Sculpin if that's your thing ... also tons of Almanac Sours, Crooked Stave and others ... plus the prices are very fair and the owner is a totally cool dude.

    Here's a list of what's available at The Bruery - plenty to choose from :slight_smile: -> http://www.thebruery.com/tasting-room-list/

Pretty great share last night. I'm hurting this morning and completely unproductive at work. All worth it. Great meeting you Mark!

You too brother, thanks for the hospitality!

It will come as no surprise that I ordered room service and promptly passed out and missed it. So hungry! Naturally I'm at Golden Road right now...not drinking though...yet :sunglasses:

Food is better than their beers. But that's my opinion. Although they have improved since day one. Don't forget Noble Ale opens at 4 today. Not much to chose from in bottles. But I think they still have Mosaic Showers.

I enjoyed Wolf the other day at Tony's, right now having the Hefe just to go with my lunch. The GRB Burger was insanely good!

Yeah I'm heading to Noble immediately after I get shut out of Huna Day tickets lol

I'd stop by Noble with a bottle of Deep River to share, but I don't think they allow other bottles inside the brewery. If it was Beach City in HB then no problem. Plus 4pm and after the traffic in the Orange Crush area is insane. Have fun. And a safe trip back to New Jersey. You try any of Brooklyn's Other Half Brewery stuff? Their IPA's? They are killing it. And not even a year old.

    Thanks man!

And yes, I drink Other Half every chance I get! Green Diamonds coming in 16oz cans very soon!

Fwiw, traffic shouldn't be too bad today because of MLK Day. It was really light this morning (drive through Orange Crush to get to work).
