Do you need advice on where to go in Boston?

I think I'm the only york guy in this round... so I'm guessing my porch was blown up and my box is safely in my basement. I won't be home from work tomorrow until almost midnight and I have to be up at 8 am Sunday to come back in, so **** might wait until late Sunday unless I have the energy tomorrow to do it. Which I probably will.

Got Ninja'd today...I guess @Clarkson felt bad for making fun if my LIF so he decided to send beer.

Yum on all fronts. Apology accepted! What's in the Crowler?

(Oh and watch out for your porch...)

Does the other side of the crowler not have a label? It should be either Yellow Rose or Live Oak Hefeweizen I think since I just got those in a box from him as well (pr0n in a couple minutes).

Glad you mention that; I brought it up to the SWTFYW guys and then got talking to them enough that I forgot to also post that request here. I'm staying near the common, and haven't decided if I'm driving or taking the train yet.

One of the biggest things I'm looking for is a place to get Trillium bottles; since I'll be there Monday into Tuesday but leaving early-ish on Tuesday, their location isn't an option for me. As I understand it, they aren't really distributing again yet, though I'm hoping that changes in the next couple weeks so I plan to follow up.

I'm also looking for some food suggestions, specifically an answer to: "If I went to Boston and didn't eat X, I would feel like I missed out" What is X? (In Philly, X is a really good cheesesteak, for example)

Aren't you a student teacher??? How are you not getting home from teaching until midnight???

Also it's most likely those because they're two of the best beers not from JK in the state of TX, and Live Oak (and Yellow Rose until recently) is growler only

As a teacher as well, my hours are often quite long too... I'm at school by or before 7 a.m. and run co-curriculars (tech theater program) after school that keep me until 6 on an average night or often 9 or 10 during the busier times. I work a few Saturdays a month, and if you add all of the grading (English teacher) I'm often up until midnight or later (hence the late night posts last night while I avoided finishing the last few essays because my brain just hurt so much...) and buried in papers on the weekends.

In fact, I have three portfolios left to grade right now before the weekend, but I seem to keep checking this darn site...

So again, we have some no-counting fools in this group. @Clarkson hit me up almost a month ago about a beer he saw me drinking (Aventinus Barrique) and so we set up a trade. Very few guidelines were setup other than I'd send him a couple Barriques and we'd exchange 6 beers each. Of course I sent 7 thinking I'd be a bit generous and Clarkson blows me out of the water and sends 10. Seriously dude, what the hell?

And it's not even like they're a bunch of lightweights or anything...

Community Barrel Aged Legion - Have seen this a time or two in posts, can't wait to try!
    Prairie Bomb! - Awesomeness!
Prairie Cherry Funk - Can't wait! Just had my first couple Prairie beers outside of Bomb! (Christmas Bomb! and Noir) so really excited to get to branch out further in their line.
Jester King Ambree - JK is a brewery I just haven't had much of. One of my favorite beers of last year was from JK (Fen Tao), but I only got a couple ounces of it as it was at a festival. Wild amber sounds like an interesting style that I don't think I've had much of (or possibly not had at all).
Firestone Walker Double DBA - So glad to round out my FW Horizontal! Love me some Barleywines, can't wait to try!
Firestone Walker Parabola - Okay, now you're just showing off.
Firestone Walker Velvet Merkin - Really? Well, you've pretty much doubled the amount of FW that I had access to in one box!
Odell Friek - Odell is awesome, sours are awesome. Can't wait to try this combo of awesomeness! Don't think I've had any Odell sours, so really glad to get into them.
Live Oak Hefeweizen - Not a giant fan of Hefeweizen, but I do like it and if I'm going to drink it I guess it might as well be one of the highest rated in the country?
Lone Pint Yellow Rose - Finally get to see what all the commotion is about. Cracking this open tonight with a couple friends.

    Again @Clarkson, absolutely ridiculous box!

Next up, the Sixterhood, I mean Winter 6er, from @Kramerbarthomer.

Crooked Stave Motif Reserva - Another brewery that I've had a little bit of, but not much, and everything I've had was pretty awesome. Can't wait to crack this one open!
CBC #2 - Ice Cream Clone - Have heard absolutely nothing about this and it sounds awesome!
Cigar City Marshal Zhukov - Really excited for this! I've been at a couple bottle shares now where Marshall Zhukov was opened up... and at both of them I showed up a bit late and missed it. Bummer. But now I have a bottle for my own, so at least if I shared it I can make sure I get some
Jester King Provenance - Can't believe that both @Clarkson and @Kramerbarthomer dropped Jester King in their box. Citrusy saison sounds delicious!
Bull & Bush Liquid Brain - Seen a couple guys in here drinking this one too. Can't wait to open this one up.
Odell Wolf Picker - This one is getting drunk in the next day or two as well.
Crooked Stave Surette Reserva Cassis - More Crooked Stave! Can't wait to try this one too! Love me some saisons...

Once more, thanks @Kramerbarthomer! Outstanding box!

So envious, my job breathalizes you at random, so the thought of a beer at work is out of the question.

But I'm off already so #vbs

Since we are piling on on Texas people, let me tell you about @rspauldi . This guy just sent me this great LIF box for wearing an ugly Christmas sweater. I guess he did not want my son to cry anymore...
Cedar Creek Gone A-Rye - new to me
Santa Fe Imperial Java Stout - nice!
Southern Star Buried Hatchet Stout - new to me
Jester King Kollaborationbier - Wanted to try more JK. Boom!
Jester King Ambree - After the reading the label, this beer is meaningful to me. Very excited about it.
Lone Pint Yellow Rose - My precious...
Saint Arnold Pumpkinator - want! I heard so much about it and now I have one.
Saint Arnold Endeavour - In the fridge and on deck for tonight

Big thanks to Russ for this amazing box of Texas brews, which are all new to me except for the Yellow Rose.
Our Texas guys are bringing the pain all over the country!

I recommend not sharing that Marshall Zhukov. Sorry to sound like a dick, but trust me, one sip and you'll look at all the people passing around the bottle with contempt, it's just not worth it

LIF - The Locals go Worlwide!!!

Ever since I joined this group, I have been thinking quite a bit about the concept of what represents local The reason for this is because I have lived in quite a few places around the world before settling down in "my old Kentucky home" and whenever I go back to these places, it still feels like home to me.
So, here is how this BIF is going to work: the first person, who will be able to tell me the last 5 countries in which I lived in with the name of the city, will get a box of brews with a beer representing each country.
Since I currently live in the US, I will ask you to name the first city I lived in, which is not my current one.
One guess will be allowed per day.

If there is the need for a tie-breaker, the win will go to the person naming the most countries from most recent to oldest correctly.
