This isn't a versus thread, its an "or" thread! Ouch that stings, Pliny versus thread. . . thats like one of my biggest pet peeve on BA.

I was hoping someone would chime in with actual production numbers and citation. . .

For the record, I seem to be on the losing end here in terms of public opinion. I thought it would be Zombie Dust produced in greater quantity.

I said, well, its in 6 packs and it used to be a 6 case limit (now 2) whereas Pliny is single bottles, and a one case limit. Further, I don't think FFF has a mandatory refrigeration policy to carry their beers, which should only increase access. Distribution seemed about even ~5 states. I think overall FFF makes more barrels overall than RR per year. Hence, I picked Zombie Dust.

I would say there's more ZD.

Yes, Pliny is distributed in CA which is a huge area, but really, the whole LA area has what? 20 stores that carry Pliny?

I think FFF distribution is a lot thicker in their given territory.

There's more to CA than LA.

Hoppy Birthday is most definitely not produced more than Pliny of ZD.

And I will say that ZD is only sold in Cook county and pretty much only in the city itself. It is on draft elsewhere. Funny cause im going to a local bar that has bottles and they def didn't get them through normal distro.

Which 5 states have Zombie Dust? From what I have heard its pretty much just the brewery and Chicago.

I'd bet Pliny pumps out more, a huge national demand and the Philly hub is really a key. 3F can't possibly have the distribution network in place when everything is so tightly confined.

Far be it from me to insert some actual facts into an argument when mere conjencture would be much more fun; but a google search revealed that Three Floyds brews 3,200 barrels of beer a year and Russian River brews 1,500. While that is not broken down specifically for Pliny or Zombie Dust, it would more likely that there is more Zombie Dust is brewed than Pliny.

Wikipedia says that three floyds brews 15,000 barels a year but that just doesn't seem right.

I would think that's closer to correct than 3200, but just a hunch, I have no figures.
