I really like Kellerweis, however we pay a premium for Sierra Nevada products here in Pennsylvania. If I could score Kellerweis for what it retails for in Delaware then I would drink it like water. As it stands right now I'm not gonna worry about it.

I've wondered before about this sort of thing. I think the beer is excellent and one of the best Hefeweizens out there. I probably haven't bought it in the last two years or so. There are so many different beers in San Diego that it is hard to keep up with the numbers. Really good beers will stop being produced just because of the sheer number of beers produced. I would like to know the number of different beers produced now as opposed to 10 years ago. The number is probably in excess of beers ten years ago times 100

love it ... it's the best American-made hefe that I've tried, and if I could find it more often in my area, I'd buy it more often

Kellerweis is a good beer, but whenever I want a wheat beer I reach for a German one. And if I want an American one, it's not better than Allagash White or Troegs Dreamweaver.

Over here in Australia Weihenstephaner is a much better deal with 6 x 500mls for $30 versus 6 x 355mls for $24 (yes, American beers are expensive in Australia)... oh yeah and Weihenstephaner is a better weizen, they've only been making it for nearly 1000 years, they've got weizens sorted out by now.

True, I mentioned that most likely could use this for other wheat beers, like the Belgian White they have coming out this year.

Kellerweis is great, however, given that another German style, Nooner, is 1) Fantastic, and 2) more in vogue with today's taste preferences, I wouldn't be surprised to see its production limited

Saw those on Thursday. Very nice looking SS round fermenters. Can be used for whatever.

One of my favorite beers, but, like several others on this thread, mostly drink it in the summer.

I haven't had one in a while, but Kellerweis has been one of the better American-made hefeweizens out there. I actually wouldn't mind it becoming a seasonal beer, though I would be disappointed if it went away entirely.

For me personally, I just tend to drink different beers as much as I can and rarely buy 6-packs or more of the same beer unless I'm heading to a barbecue/party/get-together. If I'm buying for home, I'd be more likely to buy singles such as Franziskaner.

I manage the beer section of a medium sized liquor store and usually bring this in for spring and summer and switch to porter and stout in fall and winter.
In this location Kellerweis is their slowest mover. I might sell a couple of cases in those months. The stout and porter fly.
Not a lot of love for European styles here but Weihenstephaner does very well. My guess is that the average craft drinker prefer American styles if their buying from an American company.

Interesting reference to Allagash White previously. Admittedly, I prefer these styles (Wit beers, weisses) all year round, but I recognize I'm in the minority. Not a fan of stouts, porters etc.

Allagash White is a beer I'm seeing around all year long in bars in New England, currently. Wonder how they're doing with it, and whether it moves in Fall/Winter

I rarely ever see it stores here in Minnesota, but I love the beer. Hefeweizens are a summer beer though.

You all have made the case - I'll have to grab me a Kellerweis six-pack the next time I'm grabbing a Hefe instead of my go-to German, Weihenstephan. Of course, one of the challenges for SN on this is the easy availability of these top-notch German brews. I love a number of SN beers, so I'm willing to give this a go. If it is as rocking as you all say, it might make my regular mix. It is certainly less expensive.

Don't forget that as you drink your Kellerweisse.

    Cheers!

My least favorite offering from SN, so I really don't care. Now if they have reservations of dis-continuing BF, Torpedo, and Celebration, well....

My wife and I really enjoy this beer. We keep this beer on our fridge at all times during the...wait for it...summer. I would fully understand making it a seasonal beer. With the traditional open fermentation, it's probably an expensive beer to make. I'd be very sad to see it relegated to a mix pack, though. Here in New England, it is the best non-German hefeweizen in terms of both price and quality. It's lightyears ahead of local offerings like UFO.
