It's gotta be a random canning issue.
I'm not making this shit up.

People who know me well, can tell you how much I love Abrasive.
It is the last beer I would ever bash.
    Seriously hope it's VERY random.

@lonewolfcry opened my 2nd abrasive and flat, no carb, Bittering hops are dialed down, very disappointed. My favorite MN beer and already looking forward to Hopslam:slight_frown: to fill the void.

Very thoughtful of you to send a sweet to Todd!

Your picture is proof enough, I have a "good can" that has been in a spigleau tulip and still has a nice lacing after about 45 minutes.

My guess is that one(or more) head(s) on the seamer is out of spec, resulting in a poor seam every so often.

Until I opened the first, I had the same doubts. I hate the various "[some beer] isn't as good as last year" threads.

But honest to god, my first abrasive was flat tonight. Second was a very nice return to form. I don't brew beer professionally or anything, and I'm not looking for a refund, but there does appear to be a few bum cans out there.

Thanks to those who have shared their reviews of their Abrasive thus far. Even though some are unfortunate. Based on the reviews I'm going to wait until a second canning date hits shelves. Hoping things will improve, I just don't want to hassle with inconsistent 4 packs. Not really in a big hurry where I need it now! Do I want it, hell yeah! But I don't need it.

Someone please post if there's anything else out there other than undated and 01/13/15.

Somebody ought to check the specs on the end line for the rotary girder. Head

That's so 19...ahhh...when the hell was that movie released? That's now a classic like Caddyshack was a classic when Tommy Boy was released!

snagged two four packs from princetons. all 8 cans have a printed date of 1/13/15 with a third line of 01. all four cans of the first four pack were indented/engraved with a 01. i cracked one open and had no issue with flavor or pour. the second four pack has the same printed date and 01. the engraving/indentation on the bottom side has 11 and 09. have yet to crack any of them open.

TW Roseville said they are expecting 50 cases. Wonder how many different dates/codes the beer will have.

Maybe I will wait for the next batch. At 5 bucks a pop I don't want a beer that may or may not be the Abrasive I know and love.
