I and a friend have tried it the past two years with no luck. Probably $20 worth of tickets. Still, the trip to Beachwood to buy tickets is always worth it.

That's a good point. I could go the 27th. Pick up Melrose bottles/growler and drop some tickets for PtY while I'm there.

Hamilton's in SD will be getting it again this year. They get 2 kegs every year. The first one will be announced, and there will be a line around the block. The second one will not be announced, and is normally just told to the regulars. That's how my wife and I have done it the last couple of years. Walk over to Hammy's on a random Tuesday, have several pours, stumble home. No waiting in line necessary.

What's the best way to park if there's a 2 hour maximum in most places?

I assume you are speaking of Santa Rosa and in that case when I was there I parked in the parking structure behind RR. No 2 hour max there, just typical pay for X # of hours as you leave.

Yup. There are a few structures around there that are not 2 hour max.

I've done this with mixed results. I buy four tickets every year and the first year I entered I actually had two of my tickets pulled, which was nice. But no luck since then. Either way, it goes to a great cause.

So, I was there in 2013. Didn't make it last year, but will be making the trip again this year. I hear last year the line really was bananas. What time is reasonable to show up (2nd Friday of the release) if you want to be in the first wave?

I would guess that if you absolutely cannot swing it Monday through Thursday, before 7 am might be safe.

Ok, great. 2 years ago when we went, we showed up between 5:30 and 6:00, and I was ready to do so again this year, so honestly that's fine. Thanks!

I think friends of mine got in line around 7 or 8 during the weekend last year and they waited about 9 or 10 hours (in the rain).

Last year, I got in line around 8am, and was in line for 7.5 hours. 2 years ago, I got in line around 9ish and was in line for about 6 hours...

NOT Worth it!! I think it was 2009 or maybe 2010 (whenever the last year they filled growlers) when the wife and I went and got in line around 2pm and waited for 4 hours. And another 30 minutes before getting served Younger. Not worth it. The next year a co-worker & myself flew out on the first Monday and was the first one in line 30 minutes before the doors opened. If your going to go to the fiasco then go on a weekday. It still got really busy an hour after the doors opened. So you will experience the circus show even during the weekdays. I'll stick to BW's lottery. If I win or not, it's not a Big deal. I got Citra.

Bought my raffle ticket yesterday ... The bartender said last year they made about 14,000 dollars for charity, so around 2800 tickets were sold, so ultimately you have about a 4-5% chance of winning. Regardless, the money is going to a good cause, so win or lose im good either way.

I bought 2 tickets Friday night at BW Long Beach. They had Blind Pig, Elder, and Row 2 Hill 56 all on at the same time, so it was a win either way.
