That's exactly what I did a while back...had a '14 Parabola over the course of about 2 hours. So enjoyed letting it warm and develop. And (basically) didn't leave my couch:rolling_eyes:

Thanks for the stories. Might have to try one of the bottles of 2009 Fort I managed to snag. Can easily down a bottle of WWS (getting maybe a LITTLE drunk  ), wonder what two feels like :stuck_out_tongue:

I wonder if those guys from Metropolitan that make YouTube videos of themselves chugging bombers have considered Black Tuesday....

Unsure about a BT solo, but do not attempt taking down a Flying Monkey's Chocolate Manifesto alone. Your enamel and insulin levels will thank you.

I was fortunate to have gotten a bottle of Black Tuesday--one that I coveted selfishly, wondering what it would be like to tackle the behemoth by myself. I decided ultimately to have it the night of a game 7 figuring that if the team I was rooting for won then it would be the perfect celebration and if they lost it'd be the perfect way to drown my sorrows. I gave a small taste of the stout to my wife and then greedily poured most of the bottle into a large snifter that I have for stouts.

My team won the game and so over the course of the next two or so hours, I relished the dark, delicious decadence that is the Tuesday. Having finished the first glass, I promptly poured another and allowed it to warm up; as expected, it got only more amazing. It was only after I finished glass number two that I realized two things: there was still a little bit left in the bottle and I was growing a little tired. Upending the bottle's remnants into my glass, I smiled as I reflected on my first solo Black Tuesday adventure...

From what I managed to piece together, shortly thereafter I sat down to play a game of Madden. It was around 1 in the morning and somehow I was still going. I vaguely remember bits and pieces of the game but the one moment that stands out vividly is me blacking out in the middle of the play, coming to a few seconds later, and completing the pass. I laughed hysterically at what had just happened, finished the game, and went upstairs to go to bed.

This was where things took a bizarre turn.

Sometime around four I got up to use the bathroom. I remember getting lost on the way there and walking into three walls; there are no walls between where I was sleeping and where the bathroom was. SOMEHOW I managed a) to make it to the bathroom and b) to use the toilet properly. I got back into bed, passed out, and woke up a few hours later after some insane dream where ghosts were chasing me in the house. I awoke with a start, looked down, and saw both that I had no clothes on and that the window was open.

The moral of this story: respect beer!

You're probably gonna want to take a full day to do this. Agree with some comments above... The sweetness is just killer. Get a rubber stopper and plug it up after you've poured a few ounces. That way, you can keep it chilled and not lose what precious little carbonation there is in that beer. Have fun!

ive opened beers like that and then put a wine cork in it and finished it the next day without any noticeable dropoff.
