Uncle came to visit from South Carolina, he's the first family member to visit. It's awesome to have family here and get to show them around, as well as share craft beer with them. He got me turned on to craft beer with Pete's Wicked Ale, several years later, I got him back into craft beer with COAST and Westbrook.

Here's a new local DIPA, not bad at all. Maybe not as strong as a of DIPAs, but still flavorful.

Now onto this. First time having this, as well as my first time trying anything at all from the Brooklyn Brewery. Now, I am having this after drinking a full bomber of Epic Big Bad Baptist, and with that being such a strong flavored stout, I really can't fully assess the flavor of this one. I can tell however, that this isn't bad, not at all. It's definitely not as full bodied as the other one, and not as strongly flavored, either. What I am getting though is hops and deep dark chocolate, that's all,, haha. It's hard to review any beer after having Big Bad Baptist because it is so strongly flavored, anything you consume after it tastes so dilluted. I bought a four pack of the black chocolate stout yesterday at the mustard seed here in Akron, so if I'm feeling up to it, I'll write a review on it tomorrow. I'm just ecstatic about the price tag mostly, at $8.49 a four pack and being 10% ABV AAAAAANNNNDDDD being an imperial stout (my favorite beer style) is definitely a plus. I've read very mixed reviews about it, but with the price that it was and it being readily available, I had to buy it. Pretty good nonetheless from what I can presume at this point.

I always thought this was a "sort of" rare beer to get. Maybe it is? I don't know. I've never seen it in Wooster here, and there was only two packs left at the mustard seed.

One month old sounds AMAZING. I've only spotted 3 month old Sculpin here. I'm sure that some picky people would argue that one month is even old for them, but personally,I'd snatch that in a second. They must not distribute here in Ohio very quickly!

Great music taste as well Roguer

Oh absolutely, man. We just started getting any BP in distro here; previously, I'd run into it when out of state, and it was always old. First time I had it fresh, it blew me away!

We've gotten Sculpin now at my LBS a couple of times, first in bombers (~1 month), and now these in cans (same). It's quite good at 1 month, but it's missing a bit of that pronounced juiciness from when I had it fresh. Totally worth the buy.

And this song (these songs, technically) have been stuck in my head for like 3 days; no idea why. Decided to exorcise the demon the only way that works: give in to it!

Well thanks! I will for sure keep my eyes peeled like a hawk out for a fresh batch to try, I don't know If its just that people around here aren't interested in it, or If it just doesn't get here fresh. I only know of one store that carries ANY Ballast Point (just Sculpin) and I didn't see it two weeks ago when I went, so I assume that it's just not arriving really fresh. I tried a single of the three month old kind and honestly, it was good! But I definitely understand what you mean about it not being as juicy tasting as it should be as described by most reviews that I've seen on here.

I really need to get back into music as well, as you nicely posted that song which reminded me,haha. Lately I haven't been listening to any music as much, compared to when I was young(er)!

I remember having my Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Skull candy Crusher headphones in (like a boss OF COURSE) in like a boss on the school buss listening to Avenged Sevenfold.
