    Odin's Day!

My first pour of this release from Breckenridge Brewery...

Barrel Aged 72 Imperial Barrel Chocolate Cream Stout
    [IMG]
Lots of bourbon and chocolate aromas right off the bat...
    Cheers

    Later...

Decent base stout - though not a fave - here improved by barrel aging...
I'd put it on par with Dragon's Milk and Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout...

    Cheers

The snow in se pa was a non event. Would be nice to get one decent snow to drunkenly stare at before cursing the shoveling of the corner lot.

Still nice lemon pineapple notes. Some of the finish reminds me of a watered-down hop ranch, but the biggest difference for me is a grassy back end that reminds most of the grassy elements of troegs hop knife.

Having one of these Stone Green Tea IPA thingamabobs. Looks very nice thus far, as we have a proper poured pint of clear as a bell yellow tasty bev with what has been reduced to a thin white head, reminiscing on a time not too long ago when it was two fingers of magnificence. The lacing is there to prove it. So bored with looking at it, I'm finding myself inhaling the scent of green tea, honest to God green tea. Wonderful earthy herbal tea leaves with just the faint hint of piney hop. Taste is right there with the scent. I love green tea, and this beer not only does justice to the essence, but melds perfectly with the piney hop bitterness. Just a touch of the alcohol on the finish, but otherwise this is one fine beer.

So perhaps I will blast through this beauty faster than I thought. I'm going to need a beer while making homemade pizzas and watching the Pens / Blackhawks game at 7:00, so maybe I'll be back later. If not, have a safe and enjoyable evening of beer!

2011 bottle of Pearl Jam Twenty Faithful Ale from Dogfish Head. First time having this, it's not the best Dogfish Head beer but I love Pearl Jam so it was a no-brainer. The bottle seems to have held up pretty well considering the age. Quite enjoyable

    Definitely worth a listen!

Enjoy your beer or beers fellow advocates!

Off work early due to slow business (must be all the snow - about 6 1/2 to 7 inches at home), took some winter pictures of Rock Ledge Ranch and Garden of the Gods, came home, shoveled the walkways and driveway, and then the mailman brings me the latest issue of 'Modern Drunkard' and my American History magazine.

The wood fire is burning, Deb is home and Rocket is around...time for some early evening, winter-time R&R...
