There is a wide variety of styles in there, and certainly ones that nobody has on their wants. I'm a bit of a homer when it comes to Lakewood, but that's the point - I enjoy them and want to share them. Cheers!

 

You're probably right -- the round I ran wasn't that long ago, but it WAS before we got out of control sending boxes around. So I had asked everybody for the names of any participants they had sent beer to or received beer from in the past, and I think about half the folks just listed BIF targets, others listed anyone (and I checked in both directions because I am anal about this stuff and because it was early in the process before I realized how much work I was making for myself).

 

My beers are packed and ready to hit the road. The funny thing? I haven't even packed my clothes yet.....

Catching up on this thread in 4 days is gonna be brutal, might lurk on mobile. Bottle share pron/LIF winner when I get home at some point!

 

Yeah this time around if we were going to do something like this (and I'm not saying we should) it'd be easier for each person to send who they haven't received from themselves, in most cases it'd be a shorter list

 

I know I'm way behind in the list of people looking for it and that's ok by me, but if anyone has any extra of the Carton Regular Coffee I'd like to work out a trade for some.

I've never understood the LICC thing, even when it was explained before. Can someone post a LICC Me For Dummies?

 

I totally recommend Infinite Wishes, they did a great job and price point for this release.

I'm glad to have tried it.

Nothing was good, barrel aging it brought it up a few notches.

But the gist of it is that it's a relatively vague trade where you don't know a lot of what you are getting? I know when I searched the thread for "LICC" there were 7 pages of hits (the one I posted was the first link), so there may have been more of them than we remember.

 

I never completely understood it myself, and oddly never participated in one. The explanation I've given in the past that seems to work is that it's a "2 person BIF".

It could also be referred to as a "blind trade", but there's something about it being a blind trade only one direction, and one person knows what they're getting... this is where it always got fuzzy for me.

 

I do many trades this way. Someone looking for something so I agree to send it, and in return just ask for them to pack a nice box. Is that what this is like? I'm in....

 

Right, because we still need a way to keep the thread moving along and increase the **** level Besides, other than the fact that the two people agree ahead of time on who's trading, this is basically how all my trades have been in this group... Talk about 1-2 bottles that are the core of the trade and then the rest is 'just sent some stuff you think I'll like'.

 

It basically is. If we were a less gregarious group I'd definitely see the LICC thing moving things along, but as it is beer is flying every which-a-way anyway.

 

When it was originally introduced we weren't doing all of the stuff we are now, and a lot of what we do now does follow the same pattern, we just kinda stopped using the LICC ME acronym, and just started sending boxes willy nilly, which was the point in the first place. I'd say "mission accomplished".

Yup, and I think that is the way that most of my trades are going nowadays too. Agree on one, maybe two bottles and then stuff a box full o' surprises. I just don't have the skills to negotiate beer.


But didn't the LICC have something to do with pics of the bottles, but turned around?
