    This is why I believe the number of defected cans is much higher.
    Many people just plain don't know what is supposed to taste like, or are too lazy to care to do anything to get a refund.
    Hence less complaints.

    I believe the number is significant enough to warrant an official response to the public.

    Anything is better than doing nothing after having admitted there was an issue. Wouldn't they want to pull it all or as much as they could rather than have sub-par "high-profile" brand circulating? Maybe they could do some more research and do a partial recall on the impacted batches/cans? Maybe offer gift certificates to the new destination brewery?

    I'm sure they went back on the shelf for someone who doesn't use social media to buy... (Prob what surly wants)

    I have an aluminum imprint of 35 on the bottom and a small "04" in yellow.

    Ours had no carb either so will be returning. Bought at Liquor Barrel GV. Indent of "36" but no date code on any of the cans.

    Why would Surly want that? Did you not read the post from @GaryNicholas? Even if you didn't read that... They don't want people drinking their beer the way they did not intend it to be like.
