Hey there fellas. Simple question... Is Heady Topper being traded as a $4$ for regional stuff type of thing nowadays, or will I need something extra fancy (ie. Bourbon County, Russian River) to try to snag some? This might be tough to answer, but I thought it was worth an ask. I'm asking in the interest of an event I have coming up in a few months. I have time to get something worked out if I need to. I'll be delaying setting up the trade so the Heady will be fresh as possible. Thanks!
I think that regional, high rated stuff that's equally annoying to get. Heady is not "rare" by any means, but you also can't just walk into a store in VT and pick it up. I don't think either Russian River or Bourbon County are extra fancy given that they can be gotten about as easily as Heady where they are available, so those would actually be decent examples of something that would make it worth a person's time.
Ok, cool. So something like Mexican Cake... That might be satisfactory? I'm hoping to get a whole 4pk. (I'm pretty much trying to plan this so it's a guaranteed thing. I'd need it right around the time MC is release down here in the southeast.)
But MC is distro into Ny, so it's regional. It should trade evenly, but HT isn't easy to pull imo. For some reason a weekly distro dipa just doesn't trade all that easily.
I offered Hopslam for interesting IPAs and I got Heady + Second Fiddle, it seems like one of those "right set of eyes" type beers because so many people are posting ISOs for it that you have to think the ones available for trade go out the door right away. Also a lot/most of it seems to go out of the state so you can't really rely on VT distro as your guide.
Hmm... How about a Westbrook 4th Anniversary? I'm sitting on a couple of those, and could save one for when the moment's right...
Thanks for all the input, folks. They'll be in a checked duffel bag crossing the Atlantic, so the cans would provide some peace of mind as far as breakage goes. I have a good idea of what I'll need now. Much appreciated! Cheers.
