I know. I was thinking of what sort of cool, condescending remark to make re: Sam Adams before posting in the thread. I'll come up with something.

I would say on a blind tasting front I never would have thought it was a Sam Adams beer. Does it stand up to some of the best Double Ipas in the world? No. Does that matter to me? No. But it tasted good in my mouth. Cheers!

Im sick of the hate. Haters are gonna hate. Drink what you think tastes good. That's all there is to it.

Had my first 6-pack of this tonight, and it's pretty decent. I feared a Torpedo moment when I smelled the ffreshly opened bottle, but there's some quality in the flavours, for sure.

I hear Sam Adams are promoting these beers as "west coast style" because they see Lagunitas as their chief competition and they're a west coast brand.

Sam Adams makes many great beers. I saw this one in the store today and picked up a single, I'm looking forward to trying it.

I never had anything bad to say about Sams beers, but after his little meltdown weeks ago i doubt ill ever be supporting him or his brand again

Horseshit. Sam adams has been delivering quality beers to the masses for a while now. They've been a "gateway" beer for many craft beer enthusiasts. If you can't find a couple sam adams beers that you don't enjoy, you're lying.

your math might not be completely accurate here. Plus, there are a hell of a lot of people that will grab a sam adams over the bmc choices and I'm absolutely one of them. They are clearly performing already or there wouldn't br 7+ pages of discussion on a new beer release from them. I think they're a-ok!

I put myself on a "beer budget"....so, i do agree....its only $10....but to me, it matters because it takes away from trying something else thats new.

For instance, i chose to buy hop ranch over this beer. Why? Because Victory continuously gives me beers i love so i trust them.

Total Wine is selling Boston Lager 12 packs this week for $10.99. Yes, that's 12, not 6. Can't have Hunahpu, BCBS, and Hopslam every day. Some can, I suppose, but not me. Cheers.

I picked up a sixer for $10 bucks and split it with the wife. Very solid DIPA, flavor profile is bringing it.

I mainly drink IPAs with an occasional DIPA for a change of pace. As long as it is fresh, I will easily grab this again...nice amped up double...great job SA!

Picked up a couple of singles. I wasn't expecting anything earth-shattering. I thought it was a tasted pretty good. If I had bought an entire six pack I would not have been disappointed.

It's tasty. Like the session as well. Both are good though not earth shattering. Definitely worth it.

Don't understand this bar people have set for Sam Adams for them to get ten dollars from you. This is a very solid offering but apparently since it's not a world class DIPA it's not worth it to some people?

    People are strange.

Rebel IPA & the new Rebel Rouser are 2 of the best Sam Adams that have come down the line in a while.

I revisited the Rebel IPA because its in 12 oz can 12 packs now and its not as good as I remember having it in bottles and frankly it kinda sucked.

Does anyone know if this is available yet? I am anxious to try it. I do not like their standard Rebel, but I m curious about this. Sam Adams did a phenomenal job with their Imperial Stout, so I am sure their IPA's can get up there too? Any sightings?
Thanks in advance and cheers to all

I haven't yet tried this one, but I admit to shrugging this off when this thread first began a month ago. Having said that, a DIPA that's ~$10/6 pack is hard to pass up. Even if it's decent, that's a nice change of pace from the price of the world class DIPAs (ex: looking forward to procuring Chillwave next month in the $2.50+/12oz price range)

Sounds like a worthy candidate for a ten spot to me.

I picked up a sixer of Rouser, and one of the "session" IPA Rebel Rider for my wife (she doesn't care for heavily boozy beers). They're both nice beers! No SA hate here - been to the brewery a few times, and always impressed with the tour and tasting, and find their products to be consistently above average. I'm happy they've hit on a new style.
