^This is the only reason for single hop beers IMO.

I prefer Simcoe blended with other complimentary hops such as Columbus, Centennial, Summit, Nugget, maybe a dash of Apollo...

    Loves me some Dankness!

Yeah you just want around 7% ABV and just a little bit of crystal malt to add body/balance the bitter. I'm not too much a stickler on efficiency and if you're using extract I wouldn't think you should be either.

I only mention it because different efficiency percentages affect the multiplication factor. .6 is used for a efficiency of 75%, middle of the road, so I went with that.

@dmgeng i don't know if you can get any Brew Kettle beers in Indiana, but I just had a iipa by them called Old 21 that's worth checking out. An all simcoe varietal. It was pretty damn good!

Not necessarily an ipa but the Hill 56/ Row 2 recipe on homebrewtalk is one of the most drinkable beers I've ever made. Tastes like an ipa but isn't super costly from hops.

I just tried Knuckle Sandwich by Bootlegger's Brewery and this is exactly what I was talking about and wanted. If you were involved in this forum you've got to try this beer!

That is "Hop 2 It" with Simcoe, and a little Simcoe dry hops. I have had it at the brewpub, good beer. Last time there was a "Hop 2 It" with an experiential hop, as that is how he evaluates all hops that are new to him.

I have made a couple of those, one with Empire and one with Mandarina Bavaria.

I also enjoy simcoe quite a bit, i brewed an all simcoe apa that was about 5.3% and it was very good.

Simcoe...what's not to love? I still brew ~1/2 my IPAs with Simcoe 2:1 and "that other hop"...Amarillo
