    Hey all -
I've been lurking this forum for a while now, so, hello! nice to meet you!

I live in Grand Rapids and I'd like to make a pilgrimage to buy some 3 Floyds in the near future -- my question is, does anyone know of anywhere closer than the brewpub itself that I could acquire it? Possibly a bottle shop just over the border somewhere into IN or OH? Would that even be worth it, or would it be better to just go all the way to FFF?

Maybe we stop at Greenbush on the way to FFF, is there anywhere else on the way/nearby I should check out?

The FFF website has a beer finder. Go search for some zip codes just over the border and punch them in. Good luck

Thank you! I did look at that page already. I guess I should have said a little more, hoping somebody who travels/knows this area/route well could recommend a "better-than-average" bottle shop with FFF and possibly more offerings that aren't available in MI.

If you're already driving down 94 across the border you might as well drive the extra bit to FFF. There are few stores off 94 in between Michigan City and FFF that will have their beer but freshness may be an issue.

As for "better-than-average" bottle shops that have a decent selection of other beers....Pat's Liquors in Porter has a decent selection for how small it is.

This, and yes Greenbush would be a worthwhile stop.

Stop at 18th street and thank me later.

I second the 18th street recommendation. Place is incredible. Go there first and have a few drinks then head to FFF later in the afternoon when the crowd thins out a bit.

First just go to the brewery and dont mess with bottle shops, you will be hit or miss on those. Go to 18th street for sure then make the short drive to fff.

All of this is good advice, with the added caveat that some days FFF is worth going to, and others not; check to the Beer To Go page on their website the morning you plan to head to Munster and make sure they're selling the six-packs/bombers you desire.

Oooh, this seems very relevant -- thank you for that. Are there any beers you would personally suggest to a FFF newbie such as myself?

@simonlibenski If you are looking for any FFF beer and can meet at Founders on Fri, then BM me. 18th Street should have their Rise of the Phoenix IPA available in cans any day now too...highly recommend. I would be more than happy to haul up some supplies...I live/work right down the street from FFF/18th respectively.

Or skip this madness and go to Tapistry instead.

I like Greenbush (see avatar) but I would skip Greenbush for 18th Street all day long. In terms of product they're not even close. Hell, Drew's stuff is right up there with 3F.

Hey @simonlibenski, welcome officially to BA. I am headed to Founder's on Saturday with some friends. If you are free and interested send me a list of some beers you are particularly interested in. I'll pick them up and you can pay me when I get there. If you wanted to buy me a thank you brew, I wouldn't say no. I don't have access to everything, but 3 Floyds is pretty accessible in my city. Cheers!

I'm gonna be honest, if you haven't had ANYthing from FFF, just go to the taproom and try a bunch of stuff, then grab a sixer of anything you didn't try at the to-go counter on your way out. There's not a stinker in their year-round lineup.

You just recounted exactly what I did on my first visit. (Though I did grab a case of zombie dust which I did try on tap)
