likely a longshot, but are there any bottleshops or bars with any craft leanings on the NNK?

It is certainly not a craft beer kinda place in general, but I figured I'd ask. I've yet to find anything.

I went to the Crazy Crab in Reedville a couple months ago. I was surprised to see they had bottles of Smuttynose Old Brown Dog and large bottles of Stone Arrogant Bastard. Never had Old Brown Dog before, also not really a brown ale fan, so maybe it was the fact it was the only 12oz good beer available, and unexpectedly at that, but it was actually pretty damn good. The food was surprisingly good as well. The place is right on the water, i could definately see going again and putting back a few. Theres not really anything else to do around there anyway.

The Tri-Star supermarket in Kilmarnock has a surprisingly good craft section. Last Summer I got New Belgium Lips of Faith, Stone Ruination, and some more good stuff which I can't quite recall.

thanks all. didnt go as far down as Kilmarnock/Reedville. FWIW, the Food Lion in Montross was not a complete loss - DFH 60 Minute, New Belgium Somersault & Fat Tire, Sierra Nevada, and maybe some Kona?

not good but not a zilch

Try this site if you haven't already. It's as comprehensive a list of all beer related stuff I've found for VA.

    Hope this helps, Cheers!
