Alden isn't bad, but was a little disappointing for sure.

I wish I knew more about brewing but it seems like these beers are "too filtered". Does that make sense? Lets mask the booze with a little flotsam and jetsam.

Yep, IPAs too, so many mediocre D/IPAs clogging the shelves. Would love to see an industry shake up and have some of these lame breweries disappear. If you cant figure out how to brew a competitive IPA, maybe brewing is not for you

I think Rebel Rouser is pretty good, not great, its not trillium, but its decent and affordable

I just barely choked down the last of the Fireworks 4pk on Fri night. Took a month to finish it.

Just trying Rebel Rouser for 1st time tonight. Good not great....but much better than some of the pretenders out there. Also, easily available and fairly priced.

Am I the only one who'd compare rebel rouser to clown shoe's space cake?

Really, really, really didn't care for Space Cake!

Didn't exactly blow my mind either. I'd say it's a touch better than rebel rouser on all accounts though with similar flavors.

Just cracked a Rebel Rouser...its not bad. I'm enjoying this much more than Alden and Bootleg Fireworks.

I didn't really dig Space Cake. Galactica and Miracle (retired) are better.

Thought somebody hereabouts established Limbo as the best derivative HT

Im drinking one now. It's fine, nothing off-putting about it, and certainly no resemblance to Heady. The price is pretty good for a sixer. It does seem to me that JimmyK is about 5 years behind with this one, and should have tried to put out a VT competitor rather than a west coast.

I agree. West Coast IPA'a are too malty. VT style IPA's are what my pallet is craving. Not sure I would risk trying this. Maybe at a bar when there are no better options. That seems to be Sam Adam's strength.

I also found it too malty. Not even close to HT in my opinion.

No Heady Topper, but the best readily available IPA I've had. If I was explaining HT to someone who never had it before I would give them a Limbo (if no HT available of course) and tell them to times that by ten and you go it.

Dunno', rather enjoy sampling all these new taste concoctions. At least part of the thrill is in the hunt. I really like Baxter Fireworks for some reason. A hop bomb for sure, but something else is going on way beyond my level of sophistication. I really enjoy being surprised by something that is supposed to be 'meh. Now that I'm almost seventy all this great beer comes into play. Probably just as well. Too many years with virtually no choice, just really bad beer. Trying to discover the least horrible. English beer and some other European beer I eventually found was drinkable. Trust me, these are the golden days for beer lovers.

I just tried this last night and I would say its very close to Maximus. It's a very Lagunitas type beer. I like it.
