if you're looking for bar recommendations in Manhattan, just search for any of the following: "Ginger Man" "Rattle N Hum" "Beer Culture" "Blind Tiger" etc.

Jacob's Pickles on the Upper West Side has good southern comfort food and a solid beer list. Dinosaur BBQ on 125th ditto. Both are kid friendly types of place. Farther south, I can't think of too many places.

Also the Whole Foods at Columbus Circle has a small biergarten style space with several taps that veer local and a lot of cans and beers from all over that can be bought and consumed on site. They have a much smaller but still decent selection of beers for takeaway too.

Is this going to be during the day or at night time? If it's night time I'm drawing a blank south of the park, and would go with @ONovoMexicano 's suggestions further north. Day time it's still tough, but would maybe suggest:

Fools Gold (pretty sure I saw a table with some kids during the AFC finals, but IIRC they're all high top tables, so maybe not great for very small kids)

Upright Brew House (this place definitely ok for kids, as my b-in-law takes his one year old regularly. Only issue is space is pretty limited, especially in the winter when there's no outdoor seating)

One Mile House (pretty sure it would be cool to sit at the table section in the back)

If you can travel to Brooklyn there are more options.
