Give me the lowdown on this Regular Coffee please... Dennis hooked me up with about 5 different Carton beers during the XMAS BIF and they all were honestly incredible. (particularly 007 and MCtW)

As you two both know, I'm obsessed with coffee stouts/porters. Combine that with how much I liked the other Carton offerings I had and do y'all think this is something I need to track down immediately? Is it rare or pretty easy to come by?

Well this isn't exactly a stout/porter...it's a cream ale. A coffee cream ale. That I really want to try.

 

It was limited, around for two weeks at the brewery and very minor distribution. Unfortunately, I've already sent a lot out and don't have any more to send (I've hooked up three people in this group). It's worth trying to get, it is amazing but I'm not sure what people are asking for in return.

Yeah in all honesty I would PREFER bottles, but if it's on tap I feel obligated to stop by for at least a taste. I didn't realize it was a cream ale until I saw the Facebook post from the place selling it.

It was canned, carton doesn't bottle. Yes, a 12% cream ale that doesn't taste like it has alcohol in it. So dangerous

 

I just put an empty growler in my car. #peerpressure Now I am trying to decide if I can safely wait until Sunday (they open at noon, and I will be about 10 minutes from them earlier Sunday morning).

 

I'm thinking about trying to go up to F&M for their release. If I get off my lazy bum, I can make that happen for you.

If I can't get out of the house, maybe you can swing by my place afterward and drop off a regular coffee and the tweak you picked up for me, I'll be sure to have cash. Glad you like the box originally I thought I was going to send you a 6 shipper but those thoughts faded quickly. There is a lot of great localish beer in there that I hope you enjoy as much as I enjoyed putting it together for you. Glad Lost Abbey has been releasing some of the Track beers. Track 8 was amazing and this one is great too. BA Serpent Stout with Coffee and Cacao nibs

 

Speaking of LIF's @Justdoit1234 is a very bad man!!!! I think Jesse thought this was an actual round in the BIF because he sent me a 28lb behemoth that left my condo in a frenzy of packing peanuts and bubble wrap debris. Free beer always warrants a beer boner, this may require medical attention.

First the smalls:

Bent Paddle: Golden IPA - Unfamiliar with the brewery and 1st of a few ticks I foresee
Odell: Myrcenary - Love this DIPA, really looking forward to this one
Fulton: Insurrection - 9% DIPA, twist my arm
MKE: Polish Moon - familiar with the brewery not the beer
Odell: Cutthroat Porter - Didn't know Odell did dark beer, ratings make me really want to try this!
Bent Paddle: Black Ale - very interesting
Bent Paddle: Pils Lager - May share this with my old man who loves Pilsners
Tyranena: Hop ***** - Know the brewery well, but never had. Hmmm

Odell: Saboteur - This definitely sounds like something I will enjoy

Fulton: Patience - Will go very nicely with the War and Peace @kgncfl gave me.

By my count that's 232 ounces of free beer. I am truly not worthy (really right place/right time). You are a great addition to the group and even though I just ran a LIF, there will be another coming again very soon. I'll make it a little more easy to win so I hope I get more than 7 responses for free beer.

 

Good to hear! I just picked up a Track #8 and I have this one headed my way via trade real soon. Can't wait!

 

Track 8 is so F'ing good. I'd have to look at the list to confirm, but very possibly the best BA Quad I've ever tasted.

edit: I didn't realize how few Quad's I've had, let alone BA Quads.

Including the 'big 3' St Bernardus, Rochefort, and Westvleteren, Track 8 might be the best Quad I've had with or without a barrel... tougher to compare since it's so different, but it has a very good shot at that.

 

Man, this is really making me want to crack open the Track 8 I have kicking around the house!

 

You won't regret it.... until the glass is empty.
