Theres one or two in Caves that are mainly only viewable to the people sitting at the barish. Block 15 has like 3-4 tvs, back area and at the bar.

Thanks for all the comments and I hear you. Since our first bottle releases it has always been my goal that everyone who wants bottles to be able to purchase them without waiting in line. Each year we have adjusted and tried new approaches to achieve this, and each year more people want to partake in our releases. When we opened in 2008 I had no idea what a great fan base and culture we would gather. Hell, I didn’t even know that Beer Advocate existed!

I pulled back most distribution of bottles years ago to keep more in house, increased the amount we’ve bottled and added the brunches as a way to relieve the line while having a great time with our awesome fans. We could add more brunch seating’s but that would lead to not having bottles for people in line and lower bottle limits. Some folks actually like waiting in line and are not interested in brunch. (and we will have Super Nebula doughnuts for them!)

In hindsight, adding another lottery entrant for folks who had been previously shut out was not a great idea. Each lottery entry should have equal chance to be chosen.

My GM is computer savy and able to spot duplicate entries, which actually doesn’t happen often at all. We do allow people with the same last name to be entered. The process will never be perfect but I feel we are getting as close as possible.

It is my hopes that with our new facility opening this summer we will be able to accommodate everyone who wants to join us on release days. Of course it wont be until late 2016 the barrel matured beer inventory will kick in.

Many folks have commented to me that we should have a membership type club. Historically, I have been against this, though as more people voice their interest it may be something we move to and could help eliminate the line. Of course, there would need to be a cap on the number of memberships, which could lead to the same issues of people being shut out. If you have ideas, please do not hesitate to share them with me. I don’t check this site, so email is best. Nick at block 15

In the mean time, a big ass high five to all of you for supporting Block 15 and other Independent Craft Breweries.

    Nick

Between Block 15, de Garde, and Fremont we are really lucky as Pacific Northwesterners...All of them really strive to have the best releases, try to minimize hype/hoarding/headaches, and really listen to their customers. All three places rock and I feel really lucky to be a part of such a great community here.

Also, I think the brunch+bottles idea is one of the best out there for a beer release and I look forward to every one of them!

    quick question to this forum.

If I rolled down there midday, are there likely to be bottles of anything left? I know Figgy Pudding and Giving Thanks lurked around for a while, but not sure if this event is going to be demolished within hours of opening

    My guess:

Super Nebula Elijah Craig - 0% chance
    Super Nebula - 10% - 20% chance
    Kriek - 25% - 40% chance

Last release was a line of roughly 50 people by 11 and more trickled in as the line rolled through. The line really doesn't start to form at any length until 9:30 - 10 in my experience. Looks like a decent time in line if the weather is good. And, hey, free doughnuts and coffee!

Stopped by last night. For what it's worth, I thought the current regular SN and the Cherry imagine were particularly outstanding.

LOL! If there's one thing I like even more than good beer, it's standing in line.

Just when I was in an advanced state of acceptance with my decision to stay home and not travel all the way down there just to stand in line.

    THANKS, John.

Was there Sunday and the sn was okay. Too much peat imo. The kriek was awesome though.
