Late Night Beer Advocate - Thursday

This is so good. Glad they are making it available all year now.

 

I killed my last can of Heady Topper a while ago, and now my cousin and I are splitting a bottle of the beer formerly known as Abacus while we finalize plans for a barleywine brew tomorrow.

 

Starting with my very first . Oskar Blues just came to Alabama. I'm excited to work my way through their lineup. Going with the Sierra Nevada collaboration (Ovila) next.

 

mighty tasty indeed! Speaking of smoky my mind went immediately to Smoke Jumper Smoked Imperial Porter from Left Hand…damn good beer there, smokiest I have had to date. Which made me think of the CO wildfires, (hoping they can get them out soon) damn word play! Cheers Russ ~

 

I'lll have to revisit the that smoke jumper, been a a few years, I presume Left Hand still donates some of the proceeds to the the firefighters....

Reached deep into my cellar for my night cap, a 2011 Boulevard Saison Brett... & then tomorrow I get to cut the grass I do plan on going down to the River ( Elk River in Missouri ) enjoying that cool water some afterwards & hanging out with my kids!

 

Goose Island Black Mission Tripel and Evil Twin Ron and Beast Ryan Saison over dinner at the Beer Bistro in Chicago. Finishing with a New Belgium Tart Lychee.

 

I believe you are correct about Left Hand donating to the firefighters…had one about 2 months ago, damn good.
That Boulevard Saison Brett is good brew too man, the whole smokestack series is top of the line.

Started the night with two Lakefront Wisconsinites, which rocked, and then played some hoops with all us old guys, and now enjoying a Stone Ruination 10th! Awesome!

Shit man, I was only just getting into craft when I got out of there. I remember struggling with a bottle of Bigfoot, sitting on the floor of my friend's van on the way to TC or something from Meijer during Senior Week. If only I knew then, how much Three Floyds I was missing out on, shit . . . ah that's what reunions are for, I guess.
