Drank this on Sunday and was not impressed. No accentuating qualities of the base beer, blending, etc... just literally straight carbonated bourbon. Not bad, just not complex as a beer and very one-note.

I realize that these are meant to be cellared for quite a while, but looking at reviews here on BA many people who just recently opened 2009 or 2007 vintages experienced the same.

To those thinking about buying, be wary. Not worth the $23.99 I spent on it. I think your money might be better spent elsewhere unless you're a straight-bourbon guy.

Anyone have an idea as to when the 2015 will be released

The 2013 is the 2015 release. I would assume 2015 will be released in 2017.

Exactly, it's every two years, two years behind, and it appears they rotate bourbon and brandy on each release.

Yeah if the pattern up till now holds for the future, the next bourbon Old Stock will be the 2017 and it won't come out until 2019. Between now and then we should see one more release of brandy Old Stock.

Haven't had the Brandy version, so can't comment on that. If I knew what the bourbon edition tasted like, I would've just bought bourbon instead lol

Found them at Costco for $17.99 each so I stocked up. I drank one Saturday and thought it was outstanding. Not overly hot at all to me.

Yeah, I second this! It is a beer that will age 10 to 15 years in proper cellar conditions and a solid 8 years in less than idea cellar conditions. Its fantastic fresh, it only gets better with age. Its hard to cellar because its the best shelf turd out there. I love the price point because people pass it up all the time. That is a serious mistake! Cellar reserve Old Stocks are awesome BA Old Ales. I cant think of a better example of the style.

Hope you love drinking straight bourbon! lol

Even though it's cellerable for a long time, I don't think the flavor would change much. Anyone care to comment on the difference in flavors over time?

Had the 2011 at a tasting but it didn't strike me as something I would want more of. It was big and boozy.

I saw the 2013 all over the place this weekend in KY but for the price I had to pass and buy two more Apple Brandy Noir.

Saw this for $25 and had to pass. Just a bit too rich for my blood.

Me, too. And that's for 16.9 oz (500 ml). I laid the money down for Old Raspy BA, but the line has to be somewhere.

How do you like the Barrel Aged Rasputin series? I stopped buying them because I found them overpriced and underwhelming. But I've never been let down by Old Stock Reserve (Bourbon or Brandy).

This is my first try at a BA North Coast. It sits next to a BA Narwhal waiting for the right mood. Now you have me once again tempted to call the bottle shop and surrender. Seriously, though, thanks for the opinion. It would take a bit of gamble out of the gambit.

BA Rasputin is great but it's the same price as BA Narwhal for 2/3 the volume, although it's a better beer price wise it's still tough to stomach paying for it. BA Old Stock though is a far superior beer IMO and worth the price.

Thanks, y'all. I'm set to pick one up next week. Another "bucket beer" to savor. Life is good.

Anyone know how long the bottles at the brewery last? I wont be there until June.
