I don't understand what you're saying here. The bottle of Pure Hoppiness was good so changes are on the way? Explain yourself, gunman!

Right now 6 Alpine beers are brewed at Green Flash. Soon all Alpine beers will be brewed at Green Flash. And all Alpine beers will be bottled/kegged at Green Flash. I don't think the Nelson, Duet & Hoppy Bday is the same as it was brewed at Alpine. I filled my growlers and bought bottles at Alpine. All brewed at Alpine. Not GF. Opened a growler of Nelson on Friday at my local brewery and it tasted fantastic. Today at BW the Nelson just was not as good. I am saying I feel that the new Alpine/GF is not going to be the same. Just my opinion. I've been buying and drinking Alpine IPA's since 2008. It's still good. But not the same.

I was only aware of 3 beers being brewed at Green Flash. I thought you were suggesting Pure Hoppiness was brewed and bottled by Green Flash.

only 3 are brewed at GF right now. Both places will be bottling in 2015, not just GF.

Not yet. Their Capt Stout, Ale and Irish Red is also being brewed at GF. Tustin just had all 6 on tap. You will be seeing a lot more Alpine beers in the LA/OC area. NOt only in California but a couple of other states will be getting kegs soon.

Negative. Steve at Alpine told me the recent Ale, Stout and Irish Red were all brewed at GF. That's why Tustin bot all those Alpine kegs in last week. And today at BWSB I was told they also have 6 kegs of Alpine ready to tap. Nelson tapped today. I had the first glass. Not the same. Just saying.

@dcgunman You are truly misinformed sir. Green Flash has been brewing Nelson for over a year. ALL of the Nelson, even the ones you get from Alpine brewery. Ah the placebo affect.

C'mon man. While eerily coincidental, it was just a figure of speech. :astonished:

    Uh, no.

They have had kegs of GF Nelson up at the pub on occasion, but anything bottled is not GF Nelson.

Are you trolling or just ignorant?

Where are you guys getting your information from? From what I read of the GF announcement, they have been brewing all of the IPA's.

I can't speak for anybody else, but I, like, go there every few weeks. I've been going there from years. Though I'm not exactly buddy buddies with the brewers there, I have a lot of friends that are.

I think you entirely misread the press release. Could you put in a hyperlink to exactly what you read?

Sorry, yeah it looks like they were brewing draft only and now bottles for 2015, according to the press release.

GF has been brewing Duet, Nelson and H Bday for a year now. It is kegged only for distribution to NorCal and SoCal. That's why we have been seeing it around for a year now. Friday when I was at Alpine brewery I was told that they are brewing Ale, Irish Red and stout there as well now. And that's why we are seeing those appearing at various places in the southland as well. I was also told that eventually all beers will be brewed out of GF, bottled and kegged for distro. But you will not be able to purchase bottles out of GF. Bottles will end up back at Alpine for sale. As well as growler fills. And I believe Alpine will have a new tasting room location. I filled 2 growlers with Nelson from the Alpine brewery. Opened and shared at my local brewery back in HB 4 hours later. Yesterday at Beachwood they tapped Nelson at opening. I had one of the first pours. It did not taste the same as my growler filled Nelson from Alpine. It was still good. But not as Nelson good. Just saying. I feel that the Alpine beers coming out of GF is not Alpine worthy. I'm sure Pat and the GF crew are tweeking the recipes as they brew each batch. Time will tell.
I'm wondering how the new pliny is tasting coming out of Firestone/Walker? I heard from one source it was delicious. Haven't tried it yet.

I'm sure you'll know when that happens - there will be yet another shit storm thread here to commemorate it.

I don't want to make any assumptions about their brewing processes, but any difference may be caused by process change if they are scaling up batch sizes. I actually have been working in chemical manufacturing and processing for over 5 years, so I know process controls do not always carry over to larger batch sizes. I'm sure they have the tools in place to be able to make adjustments if there are any noticeable differences.

Will Alpine be doing any brewing in the future? Nothing?

So this is interesting... my father just sent me this...

Alpine event at a local pizza/beer joint in Arlington, VA

Color us stoked as we play host to one of the country's best producers of hoppy ales, Alpine Beer Company. We'll have 6 different Alpine drafts available for the evening:

    Hoppy Birthday
    Nelson
    Duet
    Captain Stout
    Irish Red
    Alpine Ale

We'd be silly to not include Green Flash Brewing Co. (recently purchased Alpine) as well, so expect to see a few of their offerings on draft.

All Alpine drafts are $2 off during Happy Hour. Full and sample size pours available.

    See you then!
