Ever since Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest where my sour cherry was destroyed I have been on the hunt. I have had a bunch and my wallet reflects it. Favorites so fa have tart lychee, monks cafe, and collette although not quite sour. Can anyone name cheap sixers or bombers. I always heard they were expensive but I cant believe people are blowing this much money regularly. Cheers.

The ones you named are cheap. You are right that Collette is not a sour.

Rodenbach Grand Cru sells for about $9 per 750 ml here. It's my go-to for an inexpensive "sour" fix. Also, Duchesse de Bourgogne is in the same range per 750 ml, even cheaper some places (~$8 average).

The cheapest one out there that I drink on the regular is:

It's got a nice funky aroma and tart taste, and it's only about $10 for a 750. You can't beat it.

Edit: I meant cheapest gueuze. Also, Petrus Aged Pale is pretty awesome for $9 a 750.

$9.99 a bottle, at least here. Also try their Goudenband, same price.

Yeah, unfortunately you've picked the wrong style if you're looking to spend less. The ones mentioned are the best options I can think of. Most of New Belgium's sours tend to be on the affordable side as well.

First of all, its not blowing money when its a sour. I would shoot for Boon Gueuze, Lindemans Gueuze Cuvee Rene, a 375 of Oud Beersel anything isnt all that much either.

And I didnt think Tart Lychee was all that sour.

except for La Folie. $15 per bomber is on par pricewise with top tier Belgians, and nowhere near the taste.

I suggest you find the most horrid sour beer you can and drink them for a few weeks. Maybe even drink them all in one night, especially the dregs at the bottom. Hopefully this will cure you when you wake up the next morning. This is likely your only option.

EDIT: I found a La Folie last month in VA for around $11 plus tax, thought that was a good price. I really love that beer.

Perhaps the term blowing money was a bit strong. Thanks all for the quick help. Time to go shopping.

Its definitely worth $10 a bottle. nowhere near 15. on draft it was like 5 bucks, which I thought was about right.

All of the beers that I came in here to list were mentioned already.

Jolly Pumpkin's beers are not too expensive.

We too have spent way too much money on sours.
