I would be quite angry to see this beer on a shelf (as opposed to a fridge) with the price tag it's got and the effort that has gone into its import

If you spring for this and the air-freighted Enjoy By, well... Hook, line, sinker, rod and copy of the Angling Times.

I would consider it if the price was decent, I enjoyed a bottle I tried previously. Shouldn't theoretically be anything wrong with an aged barleywine.

I like it too and although I wouldn't age it I'm sure some will like it with a year or two on it. But in this instance the importing arrangement is clearly about "orderly marketing" and not freshness, right?

I think I see what you mean- seems odd that we couldn't get at least 2014 vintages of those beers. But I would love to try the aged Double Bastard I must admit

Apparently all we got was one pallet. That's what...80 cases?

I popped open a 2013 Double Bastard a few weeks ago, was awesome.

Well, I know somewhere where there is plenty of. 'Fresh' 2014 Old Guardian.....

Also, the barrel aged Arrogant bastard is no longer shipping in.

Are you referring to Oak Aged Arrogant Bastard?

Enjoy By was a cracker at $6/pint at San Diego airport a few months back but it's prices like that that have me reaching for the Oettinger more often than not nowadays...

No Oak Aged is no longer produced, this was a Bourbon barrel Aged Bastard.

    Q. How do you tell @danieelol is having a month off alcohol?
    A. A bottleshop 150m from his house still has Enjoy By on the shelf this afternoon.

Did they really discontinue it? That was tasty. Funny how the bourbon one has lower ratings. I still woulda bought it though.

Yet mate you make nothing like ruination. Do you make anything remarkable. Mate, you talk the talk but you make pale ales and drink paraba. Way to screw your drinkibg base. So mate you going to go on a holiday at our expense of making non hippy beers?? Mate, you have no credentials besides a money hungry brewer wanting to make good to beer geeks. If you are enjoying ruination then make one. Might be much for Mr 5% and under

Finally arrived. I should've driven to Sydney to pick some up, would've been 5 days faster -_- First world craft beer problems.

All of this effort for refrigerated transport and I know of two stores in perth with half of their stock just sitting on the shelves. Think they missed the point.

I think that's more a reflection of poor enterprise by the stores in question.

Plenty of venues sold out within a week. And I bet most of those venues could move more if they had the stock.
