I don't love lagers in general--some sort of taste characteristic in most of them that just doesn't work for me--but I had a Lunar IPL that surprised me.

I am not a big "American black ale" guy, but I love Uinta's Dubhe and Stone's Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale.

I hated Dubbels for the longest time. I drain poured Pere Jacques. I was given Dancin Monk by Adelbert's in TX, and it was much lighter. Then I had Westvleteren 8, and fell in love. I think its my 2nd highest rated beer on here.

I used to hate American Pale Wheat Ales, then I had Mt. Carmel Summer and Gumballhead. wow.

    Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Wild.

Other takes range from pretty neutral (Raging Bitch) to outright unpleasantness (Schneider Hopfen Weisse*)

    * I guess I'm being pretty broad including that one, but the flaw was the same to me in that the yeast signature really clashes with the hop profile.

From my experience Lil Sumpin Wild clashed more than any other beer of the style.

Very shortlist of Double IPA's. I love American IPA's, but can't enjoy most DIPA's. Pliny & Hopslam are the exceptions.

Not a fan of lagers but Southern Tier Krampus renewed my interest (but not this past batch).

I was actually not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised, myself. I guess I just caught the wave on that one; it seems to be a crazy style to begin with. It's a good reason to keep trying things- you just never know.

Keep in mind I live in california my fellow BAs, so I don't get zombie dust, troegs, bell's, or live oak where I reside. don't get me wrong I love wheat beers and I am keeping an open mind, just hard when I have limited distribution ha.

Probably because it tastes way different than other pumpkin beers . I love that beer. The Total Wine by my house had them discounted to $4.99 because they were "going out of season." I bought them all.

I never go out of my way for "Brown Ales" but Palo Santo Marron is not only a fantastic Brown Ale, it's a fantastic brew from a brewery that doesn't have many beers I care for.

First Tripel I ever drank was St. Bernardus. I thought I loved Tripels. 10 years later, I realize that I...really, really love St. Bernardus Tripel.

    Ayinger Fest Marzen

I don't like Oktoberfest beers because they usually suck but Ay FM has to be one of the best tasting beers in existence...and it's affordable.

For me it is American Hefe, New Glarus Dancing Man is the only one that I dig... Mind you I do not have access to Live Oak.

I dont really like Blonde Ales.
However, I will generalize and say it you add bacteria and sour it. I like them.

    Cheers!
